Maple Leaf Festival, Carthage

Best car show around with acres of vehicles, tractors and bikes! Cutest dog show! Great food and lots of fun...The marching bands are a show of excellent talent! A must on peoples fall list of things to do!

We cannot wait for this amazing festival!!!! I have always had an absolute blast at this event, and I cannot wait to bring out of town guests this year!!! Hello Kelly is playing at Jims Bar on the square this year, Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th..9pm!!

This year's festival will run from Saturday, October 8 through Sunday, October 16. The final weekend of the 9-day festival includes the largest parade in Southwest Missouri, an arts & crafts festival, auto and tractor shows, an art walk, marching band festival, live entertainment, kids’ activities, wine tastings, and a circus. The parade is the festival's key event and starts promptly at 9 a.m. on the Carthage Historic Square and ends at approximately noon at the Carthage Middle School. Numerous activities are scheduled throughout the weekend to entertain both the young and the young at heart. The week-long festival is filled with a variety of activities including a family fun walk, high heel race, football game, gospel sing, beauty pageants, baby & toddler contests, and lip-sync competition. Currently in its 45th year, the Maple Leaf Festival offers family-style fun combined with a home-town atmosphere.

This was a great century (100 mile) bike ride. It was well supported and relatively flat. I am looking forward to making it one of my regular rides. It was well worth the entry fee.

The Shrine Banjo Band participates in many Parades every year. The Carthage Parade offered the "ULTIMATE" in audience reception,response and interaction. Throughout the Parade route we received CHEERS, APPLAUSE, even DANCING to our music. Frosting on the Cake: We were greeted with coffee and donuts when we arrived and provided a Fried Chicken lunch before we left. "A BIG THANK YOU" (I think the food etc. was provided by the local Shriners) We hope to be invited back next year. Noble Jerry Unger President Shrine Banjo Band N.W. Arkansas Shrine Club.

Always the best in every catagory. The bands are always good.The Fall foilage this time of year is always at it's best. There are so many things to see in this week of festival.

not much i can say that i didn't like. so let me tell you what it is that i do like. mostly the people. you get a sense of real family closeness kind of atmosphere here in this town. it's like a huge family reunion. so many come together for so many different activities through out an entire week of events. the big day is of course sat. the day of the big parade and band festival. it's the most meaningful day of the year for this town that everyone can call home.it's the feeling we all get on thanksgiving and christmas. when everyone takes the time to count their blessing. this town is what love for one another is all about.and treating others the way you want to be treated.with respect and dignity.
