Boomtown, Mankato

I always have a great time at Boomtown! Amazing food, I'd say the best pizza. plus now there is new carpit, tile and dance floor so it is much nicer in there. cant for get the great drink specials throughout the week.

The place is a typical college bar, little smelly, drunk crowds on weekends. However, when its not too busy they have comedy events and live local music. Drinks are reasonably priced and its nice to have the bar next to the movie theater, drinks while you wait for showtime are a must. For food; its All about the calzones. Super buttery and delicious with out too much drippy grease. Best calzones in Mankato by far.

Stopped at Boomtown today after training camp and have to say I had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. I was told many of the Vikings can be spotted there at night so I thought I would give it a try. Nice large patio, very friendly help, not to mention they were not real hard on the eyes. Would highly recommend to other training camp folks.

My husband and I went to a movie and decided to stop in afterwards for a drink and some food. After looking through the menu we decided to share both a calzone and a smaller pizza. They both exceeded my expectations. I was highly impressed with our waitress and the bartender seemed friendly. We decided to make Boomtown our ritual stop after we go to movies.

Boomtown is a great college bar to hang out at. They have great drink specials and everyone that works there is friendly. Sometimes on the weekends they have beer busts with specials on pizza and pitchers of beer. During vikings training camp you can spot many of the vikings up there. Also local town celeb Ryan Dunton can be spotted at boomtown every night.

Everytime I have been to Boomtown, the service is really slow, however these tend to be college nights and that is understandable. What isn't understandable is when the waitresses take your order and you might get it by the end of the night. Typically you have to go and get it yourself which is fine but then don't offer to get me anything! Another irritating aspect of the bar is that they help the men first, ok fine but when I have been standing at the bar for 15 minutes you could probably pour me a freakin' beer.

Boomtown is a great bar! The bar staff is friendly and the atmosphere is usually either relaxed and easy going or packed and ready to party (depending on what time of day and what day of the week you go). Tuesday night is the "cup special" night, but there are specials DAILY on everything from domestic taps to Long Island Iced Teas to $2 Captain Cokes. Boomtown has a great menu and several dart boards, pool tables, and other various bar games. It is a VERY clean bar that is usually not overly smokey or too loud. My personal favorite in Mankato.
