I'm Engaged!

The hike directly off of Highway 61 was about 1 1/2 miles and was fairly simple. There were some elevations and over 250 stairs during the latter quarter mile, but the payoff is remarkable. Devil's Kettle is a geologic anomoly: a river splitting into two gorgeous waterfalls, one of which falls to the river and drains into Lake Superior, the other of which falls into a basalt hole and no one knows where it goes...yes, that's right, no one knows where it goes. Geologists and adeveturers alike have added dyes and marked logs and even colored ping pong balls to determine where the basin belonging to the devil leads, yet to no avail. Oh, and by the way, i proposed to my fiance on the lookout perch on the cliff viewing Devil's Kettle. This is a hike/trail/destination I suggest for anyone from novice to expert. I will most certainly be returning within the next few months.
