Grandma's has great food and their prices are resonable. Grandma's is worth a day trip to Duluth, just to eat there. It's in the bayfront area, just off Superior, so you can hit the shops in that area just before or after you eat. You can walk to Canal Park and possibly see a ship come in, while seeing the arial lift bridge. There is also a maritime museum, within walking distance of Grandma's. There are, at least, six hotels in the area, if you are looking to spend the weekend. Reserve early though, they fill up fast. If you don't have a reservation, you will likely get stuck in a hotel up on the hill, with not much of a view and miles from anything interesting, unless you like to shop.
We found Grandmas Sports Garden while wandering around the Canal, on vacation. The staff were great, the people friendly, and the food was good. We had a few drinks, played some darts, a few games of pool, and really unwound from driving all day. A great view of the July 4th fireworks from the deck on the second floor. We recommend this bar to everyone!
