Carlos Creek Winery, Alexandria

This is where the adults can go to play! Wine is superb and the location sublime. My favorite is the strawberry grape and the port. But you should try the riesling. Samples are given for you to decide for yourself though. The grape stomp is a not to be missed event! A fun filled weekend to be had for all. Take the family!

We were there in late November, only one or two others there at the time. The large tasting room has a large supply of mellow cats ... a plus for me. None of them seemed to object to being picked up and petted by gentle kids in other parties. Lots of handicrafts about. We used to live in the California wine country, we have moderately sophisticated tastes. The reds were nice, but I wouldn't pay $14 - $18 a bottle for them. Better than Gallo Hearty Burgundy (a favorite jug of ours). A Muscat was out of the ordinary, a bit drier than is common, and we got a bottle. The proprietor couldn't have been nicer. Happy to spend his time talking to us and pouring. On a cold November day, only the tasting room was open. The experience was very pleasant.

I loved the atmosphere, it was a little on the small side and got a little crammed around tour times, but the people were friendly. I am from Lakeville, MN about three and a half hours away and was visiting a friend. I loved all the different flavors they offered. My favorite was the Apple Cranberry.

The property is wonderful and well kept. Lots to look at and enjoy. The wine is a different story. It's quite expensive for the poor quality. Anyone who has the slightest taste for good wine would compare it to Arbor Mist...fruity and way to sweet, or as I like to call it, "adult kool-aid." Lots of people don't know that almost all of their grapes aren't even grown on site, they just label it there.

The winery was very clean, friendly, and the wine was excellent. I did not expect to find something like this. They even have a craft fair type set up in the barn with some fairly good hand made items. While I spent my money on wine, I could have bought a ton of craft things.

We really like to visit the winery, Stomp Fest is a ton of fun and if you get to stomp its lots of fun and suggest that you give it a try! Red wine has great flavor!

The horses were not in their stalls and we didn't get to go on a tour, but we loved the wine and entertainment. There was even a wedding on the day we were there! really a nice day.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day. From the moment we exitted the car and traveled to the winery in a courtesy wagon pulled by beautiful horses until we departed listening to the blue grass music floating above the orchard, we had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the violin and cello music near the stomping hall. There were many other pleasurable areas of musical entertainment as well. It was fun seeing the alpaca wool, animals, and unique kiosks. The very best part, of course, was the wine tasting. We are considering the wine-tasting event Friday night next year. We have already recommended it to others. We will be there donned in Ethel and Lucy apparal. Thank you for a wonderful Minnesota Fall day.

Brought the whole family. The kids had fun riding the paths on the 4 person bikes. My wife and I enjoyed the rest. Have only been to a few winerys but this was probably the best.

What a great place!! Great wine, large sales room with wine and wine related items, short tours with tasting given by the owner who obviously enjoys what he does, one of the nicest horse barns I have seen this side of Kentucky, bicycles built for two and four, live music most weekends. We love this place!!
