I've golfed MPGC since the '70's as a teen - and it was good then. I've moved away and played it sporadically these past 20 years and it only has improved.
Built in 1931, it has old course charm (trees), but length and moderately sized greens. For the amount of play (a LOT of play), you would think that you were on a private course. The fairways are manicured, the rough fair and even, and the trees well groomed.
It is a great value and the speed of play is moderate, even when it's busy.
Milham Park is a fantastic traditional layout. Not gimmicky. Nicely maintained fairways and greens. The clubhouse has a 1930's feel amd the course is a nice test. I have nothing bad to say about the course 'cept I live 3 hours away and only get to play it once a year.
A great course for walking, and the price is right. The locals know how to take care of golf courses. It's very scenic, and run by a great pro. The golf shop is one of the best in the area, and carries a good assortment of women's equipment. For a municipal course, this is tough to beat.
