Holland State Park, Holland

Love camping there, hate trying to drive in on a weekend, once you are camping and want to leave the park. Spent 20 minutes in line to get thru the guard house. One person working the rest were standing outside talking. They need to open 2 lanes on the weekend. One for campers and one for the beach goers.

Holland has a nice beach, but their bath house is disgusting, I know it must be difficult to keep it clean with so many people going through, but I have been to grand haven, muskegon and hoffmaster and their bathrooms where nice. my other problem is I brought my children and nieces and nephews 9,8,5,4 and 2 they like to build sand castles along the shore. there are so many people that walk along the beach this is impossible. we were extremely disappointed and will not be going back

IT WAS A NICE BEACH. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE SWIMMING AREA IS NOT CLEARLY MARKED. PLEASE DO NOT SWIM NEAR THE PIER!!! MY DAUGHTERS AGES 8 & 14 AND MYSELF ALMOST DROWNED, NEAR THE PIER. THERE IS A DROP OFF AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE MARKED SWIM AREA. PEOPLE WILL BE SWIMMING IN THE AREA I AM SPEAKING OF.

I love Holland State Park, the only things it doesn't have is sharks and jellyfish! You can clean up in the bathhouse, buy a decent lunch at the concession stand with covered eating area. Lots of bathrooms, changing area, and recreation. Volleyball areas (many courts) tons of free space to kite fly, RV camping, kyaking, and don't forget numberous dinner cruises. Our favorite is the Holland Princess, and the owners Jeff and Katrina are absolutly lovely people, with a passion for showing off the beauty of Lake Michigan. Be sure to visit the beautiful BoatWerks Restaurant, located off of business 96 and a right onto 7th street. Reasonably priced for the excellence. Must add, Ottawa Beach Inn restaurant has declined even further down from mediocre service, to downright unacceptable. Terrible restaurant. Thought you should know.

Our family loves the view, the sites and the sounds of this beach. I have been going to this beach for 40 years and it is truly one of my favorite places. The kids love to watch the boats in the channel as I did when I was a kid. YES, it is a very popular beach and for a reason. For those who don't like the walk and the hot sand...it's a BEACH! They have a nice boardwalk that goes down to the water so those of us who have to haul the kids and all that involves, can do so much easier. A GREAT place!

Sunsets...oh my the sunsets whether you're wearing your parka or your swimsuit, they're GREAT. The beach is crowded sometimes in the summer and the sand is hot, but when you want to cool off Lake Michigan becons you to at least wade in and get your ankles wet. Enjoy our wonderful state. Jewel

I like that it is a clean sandy beach, with clean water. It may be a bit of a walk but, i'm not complaining. Its enjoyable by all ages, something for everyone.

As this is a BEACH, there is hot sand to walk through but if you wear proper shoes it's bearable. Holland State Park has a huge beach and long shoreline, along with many nice camping sites, both sunny and shady, within easy walking distance from the lake. Better get there early, however, this popular beach is often crowded!
