Cherie Inn, Grand Rapids

My husband & I recently dined at Cherie Inn for breakfast as we had heard it was a great place to come. We found it to be nothing special at all. Our eggs were over-cooked and everything just seemed old and gray. My frittata was a flavorless disk. Anyways, we'll be returning to our favorite spot in Rockford...Real Food Cafe.

Cherie Inn has the best eggs benedict I've ever had. Let's start with the hollandaise sauce - my server informed me they make it from scratch, and you can tell. It is just the right consistency and has a wonderful "tangy" flavor that does not overpower the other ingredients. Shaved ham is also a nice touch, instead of a slice of canadian bacon. The poached eggs were also perfect, and I could tell the english muffin was of a high quality. Also loved how everything is served on vintage "Fiesta ware" with fresh fruit, and hazelnut coffee. One can tell there is a lot of thought and creativity put into the breakfast experience at the Cherie Inn.
