Colonial Lanes, Ann Arbor

The kid that works in the evenings with the short hair, that works in bar and has no personality (in his 20's) who thinks he's a manager is useless. I wouldn't let that guy manage my socks. Fire that loser. Big guy who is another manager that also works in bar is great. Pay him more. For the record Mr buzz cut crappy manager. If you need to cut a customer off don't send your waitress to do it. Be a man and do it yourself.

I have been going to Colonial for years and it seems like the turnover there is outrageous. The service has never been "great" but it's been good. I have known most of the staff for quite awhile and it seems like the good employees leave for whatever reasons. Diane was a good server during the day and Ashley was always a joy when she was working. And now Todd the manager is not there anymore either. We would come in on the weekends just to karoake and have a few beers and we were always welcomed by the staff. Not anymore though, the older manager(Dave, I think) with the mustache just walks around and gives dirty looks to people. Sorry but Colonial and CUBS was a lot better 5 years ago than it is now. Where is the value??

I'm 9 years old and I bowl in the Stirke Force youth league and I think it is awesome! We get help from the coaches and Roger Philipi cares about all the kids.We get extras like bowling shirts, towels,and sometimes the bowling alley pays for our tournaments.I love to bowl here and I'm sure every kid would love it too! And i'm also having my 10th Birthday party there in two weeks.and the parties there are really awesome! Shealynn Cook

This is not the place to go for fancy drinks and bright lights. This is however the place to go for laughing, karaoke, a good sloppy burger and fries, a pitcher of beer and flinging an 8 pound ball (or more) down the lanes for a thunderous crash of satisfaction. I've been going to Colonial Lanes since my parents bowled and I sat and played with the juke box (it was records back then kids - round black plastic things). I love it when I have an urge to go to a "joint". The lights are low, the noise is high, the beer is not fancy or high brow, and the pizza is moderate. But if you want drinks and junk food and a place to get tipsy while you bowl, and then sing karaoke without feeling out of place, this is it. It's just the things when you want to go out but "I don't want to put on makeup or heels, I want to yank on a T-shirt and jeans and make some noise... where's my bowling ball?" Beleive it or not this is meant to be a rave review. I LOVE this place. No gimmicks, no flashy lights and skimpy waitress outfits. Colonial Lanes is a good old fashioned bowling alley. Just the place if you want to chill out and be yourself. You gotta try it some night!

I haven't been in the place lately but they have really modernized the bowling center, redone the restrooms, and have great TV's in the Sports Bar. We have the Garden Pizza and it was the best I ever had. My kids had a blast on the bumpers and the service was fun. Great Music playing and a Good Value.

I had my daughter's birthday there, and it was awesome! We were able to bring in our own cake, my daughter received a bowling pin as a souvenir, and my family had a blast. There restaurant Cubs is pretty good, and their pizza is excellent for a bowling alley.

I go there every thursday and I have a blast. the owner is friendly and the staff is great!!! Never had a problem with anything there... Alos if you love pizza ylou will love theirs!! Try the Veggie pizza YUMMY!!!!!!!

The staff is very helpful and the atmosphere is great. Good prices and a wonderful owner that gives to the community. A+ I must admit the bathrooms definately need improvement but that is the only thing that I could even suggest. We have bowled here for several years and it is definately our top preferance in area bowling.

The Pro Shop is the best. Great service, prices, and knowledgable staff. The really help me with my equipment choices and made me feel important. My game is so much better with the equipment and tips provided. The center has excellent lanes conditions. I would classify the conditions as easy and consistent.

I have been to all the alleys in the Ann Arbor area, and Colonial is by far the best. The lanes are the most consitent and the staff is great.
