I personally found this boat ride to be very informative in regards to Tarpon Springs history. I personally found this boat ride to be just that a boat ride. We saw no dolphins and no wildlife. The stopping at anclote key was nice for a 30 minute layover, but that was all this ride had. Cost is way to expensive for a history lesson. If you are looking to go on a boat and go to an island take the ferry out of dunedin. Cost is less and you can stay as long as you like. Just missing the history lesson that I am sure you could get online.
We found the same Sun Line Cruises now relocated to Tarpon Springs, FL. I took my two children on the tour as they wanted to see dolphin. It was a very enjoyable cruise guided by a professional naturalist. Binoculars were provided to all of us for a better look at the nature being pointed out. This cruise was as much of a birding cruise as it was a dolphin cruise. We even saw baby Bald Eaglets in their nest and many other birds as well, not to mention the great dolphin show. This cruise was much more than I had expected and I would recomend it to anyone, any age!
I went on Sun Line Cruise's "Gold Coast Cruise" from Salem Willows pier that stoped at Miserable Island, some sort of a park as I understood to drop some of the passengers off for a visit. I guess they would be returning on a later cruise. (Who would ever name such a beautiful island Miserable Island?) We then returned to Salem along the coast which included Manchester, Beverly and Salem MA where there were these unbelievable mansions! The boat was extremely clean and well kept and the crew could not be more attentive! Try their boat drink, more that one may be dangerous! There was also a very informative narration. The best cruise for the money I've ever been on!
