The only reason to take this tour is if you are interested in the vehicle that can drive on land and in water. The tour starts off funny, as you are instructed to quack at people on the street as the duckmobile drives along, but you soon find out it's just a complete joke. The tour is an advertisement for certain restaurants. What we thought would be an educational and informative tour was just full of endless bad jokes about how bad the tour is (they continuously bring up how cheesy their own tour is). The tour is overpriced as it doesn't allow you to see or learn anything that you couldn't by walking around Hyannis yourself.
Obmoxious narrator made us "quack quack" at every person we passed on the streets of Hyannis or at the marina. She was more concerned about her mom seeing her in the camera on top of the marina than giving us actual facts about the area. i would not recommend any part of this excursion. If I could give this 0 stars, I would.
What a waste of $$$! The so-called jokes were obnoxious and tiresome after the first minute. They really enjoy telling mostly tourists a bunch of "get'cha" jokes and enjoy embarrassing people with them as well as the ride itself. The narrator spoke with such speed that it was even difficult for this Bostonian to understand. With his constant fast talking, neck rolls, and pausing it was hard to even look at him. The entire 45 minute disappointment was about playing up some horrible restaurants and trying to sell the very poor quality Duck Tour t-shirts. A major waste of time and I wish you could demand a refund. The old timer "Captain Jeff" and his sidekick "Ben" must be hard up for a job! I would rather flip burgers than having to be a tool of utter nonsense while picking the pockets of tourists. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and $$. I have had better times at funerals! I also did not appreciate the jokes about drag queens from P-Town...my under 7 year old children did not need to hear this.
We were on the tour recently and had the best time. We had 5 kids under 5 with us and it was fabulous. The kids are still talking about it and that's pretty impressive considering all of the other things we packed into our vacation. I would recomend it to all.
This Duck tour should be embarrassed and shut down. They charge a boat load of money for a lousy tour. They do nothing at all to promote Hyannis and the surrounding area but instead just tell lousy jokes about themselves and the tour. We got very little about JFK and more about the local restaurants. The Mayor should take this tour and see how this company does nothing to promote tourism. I have no reason to go back to Hyannis and now I can tell everyone how lousy this tour was and not to see Hyannis. This was by far the worst duck tour I've been on and I've been on Philadelphia, Boston, and West Palm Beach. Avoid at all costs!
Waste of time and $ ...... apparently the owner is unconcerned given the long "history" of less than stellar reviews with no apparent improvements. Obnoxious tour guides with loud, annoying narratives that focused more on silly/stupid "jokes" than actual history or points of interest. Ticket "lady" not helpful or empathetic. An embarassment to any reputable business owner, one would think..... should report to the BBB.
The Hyannis Duck Boat tour is absolutely horrible! LOUD and obnoxious
tour guide with "got'cha" moments to make guests feel like idiots - even our
4 year old thought it was "very bad". If you DO go - bring your ear plugs
and totally ignore the "shtick" - you couldn't enjoy it if you tried!!!
We were in the cape last July and we went on the tour and we had a great time this is a land and sea tour. You get a chance to see some of the downtown and some of the sea attractions a great way to spend some time in Hyannis and the host of the tour was excellent very funny. Going back this year and plan on taking th tour again.
