Cat Boat Rides, Hyannis

We had a wonderful quiet and relaxing 2-hours on the catboat. If you are looking for a typical sailing-experience (just the water against the boat and the wind in the sails), this is the place to be. Of course the captain also pointed out the points of interest, but that were only a few on the way.

We went on the Catboat as a family of four for the first time and loved it! It was very relaxing. They also offer a coupon online which allowed for $3 credit per person for drinks while aboard, which seemed generous considering that the prices for drinks were reasonable to begin with. The ride was quiet and unbelievably beautiful! The only real drawback is that it's a bit pricey for the length of the ride. I would definitely recommend this ride to others...given that you're able to tolerate the price in comparison to the length of the ride.

This is the biggest waste of money on the Cape! I've been going to Cape Cod for years and have done just about everything. This year we decided to do the Catboat. $60 later we left feeling like we'd been cheated. The sunset sail was a joke. You get on and you sail around the bay - i.e. sail by yacht club, turn around, go to the other side of the bay, turn around, then go back to the dock! They did let the sail out for awhile, but didn't tell anyone so the rope burn on my ankles was a pain, not to mention the fact that several people got whacked with the metal cable things! We had a couple whose tongues must have gotten tangled because they didn't come up for air once the whole ride; a group of three getting wasted on champagne and a kid who wouldn't stop sneezing. They pushed drinks on you like it was a Bahamas booze cruise and for $30 a person they weren't even included! Very romantic. For the same price you can go on a whale watch out of Provincetown for 3 1/2 hours and see some amazing animals! Stay away from the catboat!

I took the sunset cruise with a friend of mine on 9-16-06. It was such a beautiful night and we enjoyed the ride. It was my first trip ever to Cape Cod and made for a very nice memory.

My nephew lives on the cape and every year I come down and try to do something new - this year was sailing on the Catboat. After you leave the harbor and the sail goes up, your whole body begins to relax - no sounds except the waves. Very calming, especially if you are stressed. Will definitely do it again. Boat is just the right size, will hold 22 people, but we had a group of 13 people. It was great - do this if you can!!! CVS North Adams, Ma
