Michele's Salon & Day Spa, Great Barrington

My wedding party visited Michele's salon for hair and makeup for my recent wedding in the Berkshires. We all had a great experience. The salon is cheerful, cute and clean. The ladies that worked on us were fabulous. I had a "trial run" several days before the big event and Chelsea hit the nail right on the head immediately. My wedding day hair and makeup was even better than the trial run. For my bridesmaids and family members, the ladies at the salon were more than accommodating in getting everyone just right. One friend even got an impromptu haircut as there were a few extra minutes in our schedule and her super short cut needed some freshening up. They put out mimosas and fruit, had tea and coffee, let us bring in sandwiches and other food, and were relaxed and professional. Most impressive of all, the wedding was outdoors on a 100 degree day, and no one's hair or makeup faded before the end of the long night - we stayed looking great from 2 pm until midnight, despite tons of photos, dancing, moving around, and generally sweating like crazy in the heat. Very impressed.

I've been getting my hair cut and colored with Michele for many years. I tried out a lot of other places in the area and really appreciate Michele's talent. She's also a lot of fun to talk to and I've always found her really accomodating. I would highly recommend!

I like the color treatment, but find the place cold. The prices go up every time I go.

It is expensive and the salon owner is arrogant and not responsive to spa clients. It isn't a soothing atmosphere for a treatment.

Beware Girls! Wedding season is here and if you are looking to have your hair done in Western Mass DON'T go to Michele's!! The price I was quoted by the Bridal Coordinator was not honored on the day of my wedding. I disputed the amount and was not charged at the time so that the mananger and I could work it out. I called to clear it up & got no resolution. SIX WEEKS LATER I was on my honeymoon and they CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD WITHOUT MY APPROVAL! Can't get any results from my bank because Michele's won't cooperate with their requests. Made MULTIPLE calls to the owner and got absolutely no response. Such unprofessional behavior. Such a shame too, my hair looked cute but it wasn't worth the hassle and the HUGE amount of money they charged me!

Upon first impression, the place was dumpy. The cutting room was disgusting. It looked like it had a coat of primer on it and the ceiliing was falling in. The owner clearly should not be in the service industry. She was very rude. Worst haircut of my life, this is not an exaggeration.
