My wife and I recently relocated our boat from Lake Winnipesaukee after 15 years. So far we have found BPM to me more than we expected. The owners have been receptive, polite and have gone above and beyond to assist us. The brand new docks are awesome and the crew around the yard responsive. The old time ship store has character and just about any part you could be looking for...a huge bonus to have access to parts without the drive. The access to open water is unbelievable while still in very protected slips. We have made new friends around the dock and can't imagine leaving. If you're looking for a marina or boatyard feel, this is the place. Thanks BPM!!!!
I stored my boat at Beverly Port Marina for a few years because it was convenient to my mooring. While storage costs were on-par with other local marinas, the storage prices did go up every year. The staff is quite friendly - the owners less so.
I had to be finished preparing my boat for launch by late April every year, or would be charged extra storage time - that meant working on it in bitter cold and usually snow. Other marinas where I had stored were more flexible to their winter storage clients.
I had large scratches on my topsides one year after being splashed and docked, and they flatly denied any responsibility.
One year I asked for a launch ride out to my boat about 2/10ths of a mile away so that I could bring it in for hauling for winter storage (my normal launch service had closed up for the year and I couldn't get there beforehand). The owner refused, saying I wasn't contracted to their launch service. That, obviously, was my last year there.
While conveniently located, you can be assured the owners will not make any extra effort on your behalf, nor are they fastidious with the care of your boat.
If you want to patronize a marina that is "creative" in finding ways to separate boaters from their money in a junkyard setting with a restroom that was beyond scary dirty, this is it.The only positive asset I found were the boaters themselves. They were very friendly and fun people . Want to know the real story, just ask the people who have been there and are now happily elsewhere. The premier marina of the north shore? You can't be serious!!
As a long-time customer, I am surprised by some of the comments. This marina has been investing heavily in improvements, which few other marinas are doing in this environment. During the past couple of years, they have paved their parking lot, installed new fueling equipment, and they are in the process of replacing all of their docks with brand new ones. They still provide the cheapest fuel in the area, and a large full-service operation. Their location and facilities are superb.
The owners are pathetic, abnoxious and rude to everyone. Mr. owner was convicted for pushing an old man in the cold water when asking for help. They never take reposability for there actions and steel deposits. There docks are completely outdated and unsafe. Ask them how many of there docks are in the federal chanel.
The docks are falling apart and have been for years. The Mgmt is rude and the parking lots are filled with old abandoned boats. Did I mention that they have a tendency to drop boats on their lifts too.. The only positive thing is that their gas prices are the best around but I would never store my boat or keep it in a slip at this dump of a marina.
We came down from Portland and saw a place that should not be called a marina. The docks are in terrible shape w/ hoses, wires and other clutter all around these very unstable docks. The ships store is a wreck where you have to jump over boxes to get anywhere and the bathrooms are incredible dirty. I saw a kid on a forklift nick a boat and not think anything of it.
As a big marina, has a lot of advantages. Marine store open 7 days a week even in winter. Hi-volume fuel dock with the lowest prices and 3 grades of gas plus diesel. Flexible about letting owners work on their boats. Great location. Dive shop and bait shop across the street. But beyond all this, the staff care about helping boaters out with all sorts of problems -- providing a jump start, towing a boat, finding a hard-to-find part. Their parts manager has been in the industry over 60 years! The best marina on the North Shore.
This park offers beautiful tree shaded grounds that afford ocean views, piers, bandstands, beaches, picnic areas, rides for children, a
plethora of activities and great places to eat, and much more for a wonderful and relaxing outing.
