Excellent, but not for many kids

My child's class went to the house recently. It looks wonderful - almost every stick of furniture and bit of decoration is either from the actual period or at least looks it. The docents make an obvious effort to look as though they come from the period, and the place is beautifully maintained. However, it was easy to see that they were not thrilled at having to deal with so many children, and there was more than one instance where I knew more than the staff about the furnishings &/or presentations they were giving. To be fair, I have a master's degree in history, but I would have thought that someone with even more knowledge would be working for them and could inform them. Maybe I should volunteer? :-) In short, if you're going to take your child, make sure you're not one among many.
