This camp ground was very exciting! The kids loved it, they so much fun at the water park and us adults didnt even have to go with them. There is also a large pool and a bunch of lounge chairs, the campground even has activities for the kids up at the pavilion, and there is so many camp sites to stay at. The people there are very friendly! There is so much for the kids and adults to do and you do not even have to use your car the whole time youe up there because there is a shuttle bus up there to take you to and from the beach and boardwalk!
The atmosphere was very family oriented. Our kids loved the shows and the shops. I have never been to a place where they were so focused on the kids having a great time. The cowboys, can-can girls, the Native Americans all treated us and our kids like they were V.I.P guests. They even remembered my nephew by name when we left the park.
They don't mention when you are paying your child has to be 42 inches to ride the slide. Wouldn't even let him in to check his hight. Splash mountain has many more slides and activities for both younger and older children.
Frontier Town is great! It offers everything you need. Store, ice cream parlor, water park, mini golf, pizza place, laundromat, very nice bathrooms/showers, security, fishing/crabbing pier, pets welcome. Not to mention the Western Theme Park. They have great daily activities for everyone. The staff is friendly and always there if needed. If you need to leave for any reason its only 10 min. to the boardwalk, about 10 min. to historic Berlin, 10 min. to Assateague to see the wild horses. Its close to Wal-mart, Foodlion and numerous shopping malls, and restaurants. Our kids love camping here and we do so several times a season. We recommend Frontier Town to everyone, any age. You will be very pleased!
We have been camping here since the mid-1980's and have seen dramatic changes in services and activities since then. It truly has become our family vacation tradition. We like to "rough it" and always stay in our tent.
There seems to be some new attraction every year. The atmostphere is definitely family oriented and the kids can ride their bikes everywhere. That's the good news.
Like all campgrounds anymore (or anywhere else!), there is usually one or two groups of campers who can spoil the fun with their loud music, arguing, drinking, etc. Thankfully, the security staff gets right on it and investigates the matter. We will probably keep going back until we're too old to set up a tent.
As a child my parents always took my brother and I to Frontier Town every year since I was three while we were in Ocean City. We always thought going to Frontier town was the greatest part of the trip. All of the employees are always friendly and out to make sure everyone there had an excellent time. My husband and I took our two year old daughter there Summer 2004 and she loved digging for gold, riding the horses, and wathing the shows. She actually got up in the muddle of the show and went up to one of the cowboys to talk to him, I was mortified but he was so friendly to her. I can't wait to visit again with her for 2005.
