Burned my Child!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/12
Awful, horrible experience for my teenage daughter! She received two 3rd degree burns and one 2nd degree burns at the hands of their incompetent stylist. The stylist said my daughter was just being dramatic when she began to cry, they stylist even refused to get us ice to put on the burns! The next day I spoke with a woman who claimed to be an owner, all she did was give me a PARTIAL refund...not even a full refund! When I called back weeks later to inform them that my daughter was going to require surgery I was told "OK I will let the owner know" I never heard back from anyone! I finally had to hire a lawyer so my daughter could get her medical costs covered. My daughter suffered though months of pain and endured a painful surgery and is left with bald spots on her head because of this salon and we never even received so much as a "I'm sorry" from those people! Beware! Beware! Beware!!

Highly damaged Skunk Streaked hair
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/11
I paid at least 150 dollars More than I was quoted to pay when I came in for my consultation. My hair is FINALLY regaining it's health, after the mess their stylist did to my hair. She fried it..and I'm not kidding when I smelled my hair burning as she tried to straighten it. The products she used were horrible..and did nothing to give my hair moisture. I came home to see that with my cut, the highlights I had gotten done were nonexistent..AND I had a skunk streak running down the top of my head. The place is not soo cozy...you will NOT feel like you are relaxing and being pampered and treating yourself..it honestly felt like a larger version of Mastercuts.. I will not be going back--EVER.

Unsatisfied Customer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/11
I used to frequent this salon but got fed up with the atmosphere and my stylist. The front desk personel were less than professional - they had a habit about talking not so privately about patrons and/or about their personal life in front of those in the wait area each time I went. When I expressed this to someone hoping to give good customer feedback it was basically shrugged off and it continued. My stylist would never do what I requested whether it was a cut or color. Got fed up when told several times the look I was going for would be pricey to upkeep - something that would not have been an issue for me. I feel as though she was not experienced enough to do what I wanted and would not admit it. I did experience an issue with highlights the final time I was there that were not what I wanted and got the same defensive attitude as expressed in other reviews when I requested it to be fixed. I had it fixed and had to pay for it and never did it again. That was the final straw. The salon tries to appear very high end but from the attitudes and treatment of those who work there along with the disappointing service, it brings it down to a regular hair cutery. I now go to another local salon and get the service I request. This salon needs to work on their customer service and update their hair stylist's experience whether or not they have been there 2yrs or 20yrs which include management as well.

Customer Service Leaves a lot to be desired
By Brian A, 7/20/11
Their customer service is not focused on solving the problem only defensive comments. If you go in for blond coloring and come out with brown their response is you look great! When you contact the general manager the next day after reflecting on not getting the color you had asked for there response is defensive. They do not explain how they will take care of the situation. They respond with "we did the best we could" and "I don't understand you seemed ok with it the night before". When you request that they fix it they make it clear they think you are complaining only to get something for free. There is no the-customer-is-always-right attitude or appearance of doing whatever they can to make the customer happy. When you ask to escalate to the owner you are informed that the general manager has 20+ years of experience working with the owner and she will be sure to pass it on. Bottom-line: For being a little pricier than most the customer service is worse than the Hair Cuttery!

I thought it was fine till I left...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/11
The experience was ok but haircut was absolutely horrible. I had asked for a deep treatment using the Redken treatments offered on the salon website and was under the impression that it could be tailored to my needs. I think I basically paid extra for her to put conditioner on my hair. She left me for about 10 minutes with a hot towel on it. Then when she came back to rinse she put the "treatment" on it which consisted of about two sprays of something. She did not tell me what she was putting on it, for all I know it could have been water. As for the haircut, I have naturally curly hair which I wear straight and just needed some of the stressed ends off, and I expressed this to her (and also that I am trying to grow my hair out so don't take too much off). Once I got home I noticed that it was UNEVEN!! The back was uneven in several places. Plus, my hair in the front looked like she just cut straight across and you could see the "steps" she basically made in my hair. The only thing I was impressed about was that she flat ironed my hair and styled it to where I felt like I didnt need to go home and re-style it. I ended up going somewhere else the next day to get it fixed (meaning I had to get even more haircut off than I wanted and pay more). I really had high hopes and was excited for my hair cut but was definitely disappointed and it was a major waste of money. Oh, don't forget that you cannot tip if you pay with credit card.

Gossipville!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/10
This company hires for looks not talent! I can bet if your not magezine ready when you step through the door, you'll be talked about all day! Not family friendly either! Don't forget to bring CASH.. you can't tip on your card and lets not start on the the degrading looks you'll get if you don't ( can't ) tip! Good luck I've been there quite a few times and have heard what those woman have said about other people and I wasn't ever satisfied with the cutt! 1 - 10 my rating is a 2 P.S. : Make sure you tell your " stylist " not to charge you for things they thought were best to fix you hair, which was probably fine in the first place, without asking you first!

Great atmosphere but short on value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/09
I was a regular client for about 3 years and suddenly realized that Thomas Scott is all atmosphere and glitz but very short on the service you get for the money you pay. I saw two different hair stylists - one very senior and one junior - and neither one could color or cut my hair with any kind of consistency. The color was never the same and the cut was always different each time - I know because I always style my own hair and when you have been styling your thin fine hair for as long as I have, you know when you just received a bad hair cut. I also made the mistake of of getting a manicure one time - the acrylics were not put on properly. However, there is one bright side to this story - I also made an appointment for reflexology - absolutely amazing and would highly recommend it to anyone!!

I LOVED MY THOMAS SCOTT SALON EXPERIENCE FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. THE STAFF WAS SUPER FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. I LOVED MY HAIR CUT AND COLOR. I ALSO LOVED THE REDKEN PRODUCTS I BOUGHT. I WILL BE COMING BACK VERY SOON.

Wonderful Stylist,Superhaircutcut!
By AGSMOM, 8/26/08
The staff behind the counter were the only drawback.I have never been in an "full service" salon with such unfriendly counter staff. After I paid and said thank you the the receptionist, she did not even acknowledge me.I walked out the door having spent over $100.00 without so much as a "thank you"from her. This is the reason why I would not rate Thomas Scott Salon "exellent".p.sthe greeting as I enter wasn't much to brag about either!! But again, the stylist was wonderful and very friendly.

Undecided
By Lynn, 4/13/08
I can not seem to make up my mind about Thomas Scott Salon. Some of the staff are super friendly - while others can be a bit stand-offish. They have water and coffee available - but do not ask if I would like something to drink -- would be a nice touch. One MAJOR inconvenience is that you can not include gratutity on credit card - you must bring cash or check. I believe in a full service salon - and overall, Thomas Scott Salon has not fully grasped this concept.
