Vineyard Springs Trail
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/04
The Vineyard Springs trail is a moderately steep trail that branches off of the Grist Mill Trail in the Avalon/Glen-Artney section of the park. It includes both lowland and upland vegetation, and you can spot numerous white-tailed deer along the trail. The scenery is spectacular in the autumn season, but watch out for the mountain bikers! We discovered a beautiful eastern garter snake that had been injured by bikers. It takes about 2 hours to hike the full trail, but is well worth the climb.
