Terrible Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/11
This was not at all what we expected, especially with the price paid for admission. It was terribly overpriced for the overall experience. I do not recommend this to anyone. I give credit to the actors, but besides that there is nothing worth visiting. For the entry fee, the ambiance is nonexistent. There were actually 2 deer heads hung on the wall of the theater, which had nothing to do with the play. If that is what you are interested in while you eat, then go for it. We were served on plastic tablecloths with paper napkins. The food was sub-par and the temperature of the theater was sweltering. Several people complained about the heat. Unfortunately, the system for dinner is antiquated and long. Since we had an earlier number to be called to the buffet, we wound up waiting over an hour after we finished eating for the show to start. Then, intermission lasted 35 minutes. There was far too much down time with nothing to do. We were just shocked at the "simplicity" of everything, especially for the price of admission. I never plan to return and I do not recommend it to other diners either. The acting was average, for a dinner theater. Since the actors were also the waiters, that increased the wait time. We gave this as a Christmas gift to my in-laws and I am sad to say that I was completely embarrassed after the whole experience.

great performances
By sheila, 5/26/10
I love the shows. However, I do not like the length of time I have to stay there because of lengthy buffet. PLEASE CHANGE MENU to just pizza, salad, and a drink Everyone loves pizza. This would save Toby's and patrons both expense and time

I cannot wait to go back in May to see Hairspray!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/10
I have been taking guests to Toby's for many years. I especially love the fact it is privately owned by Toby. I love the theater in the round. I love the food naturally, but I love the excitement and enthusiasm of the actors....and the friendly staff at the box office! Constance Townshend Halkovich

Loved Toby's Dinner Theater's (Oklahoma)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/09
I saw the play Oklahoma last night and it was wonderful! The casting was perfect, each cast member looked & sounded perfect! Curley, Laurey & Jud were exceptional!! the choreography was the best I have seen in local theaters in several years. We were celebrating a birthday at our table and the waiter brought out a special dessert for our birthday girl. The all you can eat buffet had a huge offerings of 4 or 5 different meats, fruits & veggies for your choosing, what's not to love? Our whole table had a great time, and I would highly recommend for your time & $$ to see Oklahoma at Toby's Dinner Theater, Best time we have had in a while! SA

Alway's a Fun Night Out
By Columbia Kid, 3/18/09
I've been to both Toby's locations on several occassions. The Columbia venue is the superior of the two. The shows are generally very well done with some exceptions along the way. The food is average but plentiful. Like one of the previous posters stated.... I would love to see some changes to the menu as it always seems to be the same. Going this weekend to see High School Musical with the kids (holiday gift). I'm confident that they will have a great time. I would certainly recommend Toby's for a very relaxing and pleasant night out.... just keep your expectations realistic. If you expect Broadway and a 5 Star meal you will be disappointed.

GREAT shows, but the food has got to change!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/09
I've been to Toby's so many times I've lost count. I always LOVE the performances! I'd love to go more often, except my husband and I are so incredibly BORED with the food. They generally have the same menu for every show. I say generally because they always throw in something new to go along with the theme of the show. Though I wonder if it actually is the same dish as before, just with a different name. It really all tastes the same. And it often reminds me of cafeteria food. I think Toby would benefit from changing up the menu a bit more and creating more flavorful dishes. It can be done! I've been to plenty of buffets that have had phenominal food. But Toby's is a bit lack luster. And because of that... its hard for us to spend the money on tickets for something that we'll only half enjoy. So we haven't been able to justify going in a while... which is a shame because there were a couple shows I would have loved to see. Oh well.

Joseph Triumphs!
By Suzanne Chapman, 3/14/08
Joseph has been done again and again and again...but somehow Toby's managed to make it new. For once I didn't feel like I was being presented the schlop that usually is forced upon me in this kind of environment. I was ever so pleasantly surprised. It's hard to pick stand-outs in this cast of stars. David Jennings was an endearing and angelic voiced Joseph. Janine Gulisano has a voice to kill for as the Narrator. However, every so often she becomes disenchanted with the audience, singing more to hear her own voice than to explain the story. But those moments are few and far between, and overall she does a good job keeping you involved. Shawn Kettering made a brilliant Pharaoh/Elvis. I'd highly recommend this production to anyone. Bring the kids! It's exciting enough that they'll sit through no problem!

Always a great show
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/07
And the foods not bad either. The buffet includes a wide variety of entrees and vegetables, including steamship round and shrimp. We recently saw The Sound of Music and the cast brought the classic to life with a fast paced, nicely choreographed version of the show certain to please all those who grew up with the classic sounds from the show. Highly recommend it...

food is average, show is good but service is awful
By Trisha, 2/19/07
The Columbia location had a great show, but their food was average (buffet of different foods...not all are warm/hot and they aren't seasoned well). The Baltimore location is much worse so if you have to go to one, only do Columbia. The General Manager at the Baltimore location (Matt) is not helpful, doesn't return phone calls and shouldn't be in service industry. He doesn't know anything about customer service and doesn't care about trying to please customers when there are any issues, complaints, etc. I think they need to find a new manager if they want this place to be successful.

Good Food and a Great Show
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/05
Went with some friends and saw the show on a Sunday. It was great. The food was good, and the actors wonderful. Every seat puts you close to the stage and the place was sold out. Hope to go back to see their next show.
