With over 200 years of history!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
On a sunny fall afternoon the sunlight floods through the windows in the many, many rooms of the Mansion. Details in the stone and wood that went into the Mansions foundation is beautiful..."they don't make houses/furniture the way they used too". Truely a somber and moving experience. I will re visit...Bowie MD has a bit of history to explore!

What life was like
By Catherine, 03/18/08
Belair Mansion is lovely. It was first owned by the Ogle family and of course the Woodward family. Ask about the Woodwards and the evening Mrs. Woodward "mistakenly" shot her husband. Fascinating story. The entire mansion has been refurbished to its original state and it is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous as well with Tulip Poplars throughout. It is in walking distance to Belair stables and they are intersting as well. There are a few graves on the site that are in the very back of the property and more graves in the vicinity in the middle of the residential area. The entire place gives you a very real experience of what life was like in the 17 and 1800s.
