Historical Experience

I was especially impressed with the historical aspect of this marvelous church. Initially, the property was given to Charles Carroll of Carrollton (who was a signer of the Declaration of Independance) as the first Catholic colony of the new world. The original house still stands on the grounds of St. Mary's overlooking the beautiful Spa Creek. The church houses the oil painting of the Lady of Perpetual Help who holds the Baby Jesus and his foot on the canvas is worn by the touch of devout Catholics who journey here.
It is a beautiful church which houses the original chapel beneath the church. In this chapel is the peretual devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. A visit to Annapolis is not complete without this visit.
