This restaurant offers fantastic regional American seafood specialties and a wonderful waterfront view of the harbour; located in the historic district of Annapolis, the restaurant is being renovated and is expected to reopen in April of 2004.
Fantastic food and views of the water! We ate in the summer and had a window seat. The service was wonderful and we were seated quickly without reservations. I highly recommend it. I will be dining there again very soon.
We dined around sundown, and the combination of excellent food and sailing ships outside the window made it unforgetable.
We met the Manager (Richard), and he was extremely helpful with helping us choose from the wide range of menu items.
We started with the Crab Soup and it was out of this world. I followed with the Crab Cake and it was the best I had ever eaten. My wife ordered the Herb Crusted Rockfish. It too was a taste of heaven.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and plan on making Carrol's Creek a regular stop on our Maryland trips.
Whever we want a "sure thing" for dinner we head to Carrol's Creek. Amazing cream of crab soup that is to die for and the herb encrusted grouper with crab is our favorite. You'll want to lick the plate clean!
Almost always great service-especially when the owner Jeff is around helping out! :)
A nice view of the harbour accompanied with excellent food.
While a bite pricey and patroned by a snobbish set, the restaurant was wonderfulk and full of delictable items.
The waitstaff was compentent and attentive.
The menu was a bit overpriced for the fair, but was delicious.
I had the Mahi which was wonderful in all its tropical flavors.
Carrol's Creek Cafe is first and foremost great restaurant with excellent food[ It is decidedly upscale and portions are not the typical too large to eat like some places. I personally find this preferrable.
Presentation is artful, and some of the flavor combinations are unexpected but still very good and not "too far out" like some places that TRY to be fancy.
This place is pricey, you really won't get out for less than $25/person, quite possibly quite a bit more, but I would say that it's totally worth it for a great evening out, a special occassion, or if you were visiting on vacation.
While it's upscale you don't have to be dressed up, especially at lunch, we've gone in shorts and it's not a problem, although we've also been in formal wear at night and not felt out of place as well.
The crab soup is to die for, and the crabcakes are some of the best you will find in Maryland.
If there were any one place to eat in Annapolis it's this place. The interior design isn't interesting or anything special, but the view is fantastic.
Grab some mints on the way out, they're the best.
