Cape Able Bike Shop, Kennebunkport

I don't have a lot of money to spend on bikes or their upkeep, so I'm very price-conscious. We bought both my bike and my daughter's at Cape Able/ Kennebunkport Bicycle Co., the bikes were reasonably priced, and they have been wonderful! Since then, we've also taken our bikes in for service, and K'port Bicycle never over-charges for service. In fact, I think they are incredibly fair in their pricing, and I wouldn't think of taking our bikes elsewhere. They also returned my bike to me on the day they had promised, even during their busiest season. I highly recommend them!

I have used cape able bike shop for over 10 years. I am a competitive bike racer and they have bent over backward to help me when I have needed last minute adjustments before a race. I am not sure the situations surrounding these negative reviews however my personal experiences have been more than satisfactory. Keep up the good work Brandon

I had a recent repair done on a set of race wheels. Pretty routine work that was guaranteed to be completed in 2 days which was reasonable. After picking up the wheels 1 week later, I was simply told "things go busy". Not only that, I had to take the wheels back (to another shop) 3 days later to complete the repair. Im not accustomed to such poor service, especially at a "local" bike-shop. I hope others will avoid the same mistake.

The fact that the owner of this so called 'bike shop' is writing reviews, and admitting to it...what a joke. Talk about "stuffing the ballot". The arogance in this place is absolutely rank. With shotty mechanical work, this isn't the place you want to be. Hope this helps some would be victims. Marcy

There is quite the paradox with Cape-Able...high end (full price) bikes, poorly complemented with inexperienced teenage mechanics. Not a good combination. Unfortunately, when my buddy and I stopped through during a ride for a tweaked rear der., a simple cable adjustment soon became stripped threads on his permanent der. hanger after they cross treaded them with a staightener....not good at all. To top it off, the owner wanted nothing to do with it. Enough said.

Make sure you get your bike back before evaluating this "shop". I should have taken a picture to unequivacally prove the bike was in worse shape when I picked it up nearly 2 weeks later. Once Cape-Able got their money, they seemed not to care the least about my husband or his bike. I was shocked at their outright rudeness. Be VERY careful about bringing your bike here.

My family was in town for the weekend of July fourth, and we rented bikes from Cape Able. We had no idea that they had a bike rental shop right in dock square. We rented beach cruisers, did some quick shopping in town, then rode to the beach. We rented bikes again the next day and rode up the coast, Cape Able even gave us suggestions on where to ride. During my recent visit to southern Maine, including Kennebunkport, I stumbled upon Cape Able bike shop. It was like most other shops at first, then we got to talking, and I was taken aback. I felt like car salesmen had taken over a bike shop. On top of that, they repeatedly encouraged me to write a positive review for them on Yahoo. Well guys, here's your review!
