The Best of Freeport
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/09
I first read about this place in the New Yorker magazine. Curious, I visited and I was not disappointed. A wide-array of very reasonably priced goods; everything in this place, including the very personable and helpful staff, exuded a touch of practical elegance without being precious. A gem!

They have a good assortment of British goods at prices that are reasonable. The people are very pleasant and helpful. It is a very pleasurable place to shop.

A Unique Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/06
Recently this British goods shop was devasted by a fire, but the new location across from L.L. Bean's and a nice restaurant has only enhanced its status as one of the most pleasurable shopping experiences in town. With its higher visibility, it seems that shoppers have caught on, too. No surprise since the great locale is beautifully designed with their interesting and reasonably priced range of British gifts, food (and candies!), and clothing. It was packed when I visited but there were no long lines at the cash registers. The people who work here were really nice and helpful, too. A newspaper article next to the cash register told the story of how the owner, bedridden by Lou Gehrig's disease, redesigned it all. Truly inspiring.
