Thistles Restaurant, Bangor

this restaurant gave us great service for a late party of 8. the price for the quaility of food was a plus. the owners family seemsto really want to please the customers. A true plus for a small city restaurant.

"Laissez les bons temps rouler" (as we would say in Louisiana)or "let the good times roll" when you are dining at Thistles! If you are a person who loves flavorful, deep-seasoned foods then you'll love your "Thistles experience". Although the restaurant fits an average income clientale, it gives you a feeling of exquisite dining. I am from south Louisiana so believe me I know how good tasting, lip smacking food should taste. My husband and I were taking a trip around the world when we decided on dining at Thistles. We talked about the food, service, and the beautiful restaurant for at least 30 to 40 minutes after we left the restaurant. Trust me, this restaurant is worth the time, money, and the second trip to Bangor, Maine! See ya'll next time. Dan and Chelle

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we went to Thistles tonight. We were treated like royalty. There was a flower and a candle at each table, the candle was lighted as we sat down. The waiter was very attentive. The food was excellent, and the portions generous. The prices... well, for our budget, it's reserved for very special occasions. Well worth it for the atmosphere. We wanted somewhere quiet, so we could converse easily without having to raise our voices, and Thistles fit the bill. It was so nice to be able to connect again, without the interferences at louder, overcrowded restaurants, or even at home (we have a child, who spent some time with her Grandma while we dined.) The experience was wonderful. We'll definitely consider this for future anniversaries!

My husband and I love the delicious cuisine that Thistle's offers. The portions are generous, the prices slightly higher than other family restaurants, but worth every last penny. The food selections are unique and a pleasant change from your typical food fare. The staff are extremely accomodating and very professional. The piano player adds a touch of romance. Thistle's frequently offers mail coupons for half off an entree which is a great way to try this restauraunt out! If you have the chance visit on the second Tuesday of every month for "Tango Tuesday". An interesting And enjoyable way to experience Argentinian food with music and Tango dancing!

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE THE ROMANTIC ATMOSPHERE AT THISTLES. THIS IS THE PLACE WE CHOOSE TO GO WHEN WE WANT TO FEEL LIKE WE ARE DINING IN BOSTON!

The food is amazing, the service friendly and efficient, the ambience soothing and relaxing. Live music is a nice touch. Don't even think about gong any place else in Bangor for dinner.
