Gardens of the American Rose Center, Shreveport

I could have had my wedding anywhere. Based on the beauty of the grounds, I chose the American Rose Center. I was forced to use Classic Events. At first they seemed wonderful. Almost anything we wanted or needed they would agree with. Jump to about 7 weeks before the wedding, AFTER the invitations were printed, they began reneging on almost everything. They made up charges , they didn't tell us about. They held us to a contract , they never gave us. The woman who runs classic events was rude to me, my family, guests and pastor. She turned up the air, where it was hotter. We had roughly 400 people there!!! She tricked me and my husband into leaving earlier than we were supposed to, She charged us a kitchen use fee. We stored water in the kitchen and borrowed a knife. I think a couple of people may have washed there hands. All of that and we were not given our $500 kitchen use fee back! There were lies about cleaning up times, money, even color of chairs!!! I could go on and on. I want to warn anyone to be careful before using classic events at the American Rose center, if you do use them . Record the meetings,seriously ! We did if they try to deny anything! It is not worth my time fighting this in small claims court, however if I can warn one sweet couple to be careful before their wedding day I hope I have accomplished that!

What a beautiful time in a young woman's life, a wedding at the American Rose Center. What a beautiful place to have that dream come true to have a person or persons do everything they could to ruin that day. Classic Events did that to us. They are rude, unprofessional, disorganized and they will cheat you out of your money. They say they will provide you with the best day of your life, but life changes the day to step on the grounds for your wedding. They do not set up the way you paid them to set your tables up. We were over charged for that. We paid for a extra hour for time to get our stuff out and were charged 250.00 when their web site says 150.00. We used 6 minutes of that hour and would not refund any of our money. They run our guest off by saying they were out of food, but yet they were caught taking our food we paid for out to their cars. They took wedding cake without asking if it was ok. They are not professional at all. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO CATER YOUR WEDDING.

Ellen the woman in charge of organizing the wedding was very friendly when we went to check it out. After that she lied about what she would offer and the day of the wedding was rude, pushy and did everything to make it a very stressful event. She promised the caterers were wonderful and it was a morning wedding. There was no coffee as promised no glass, as promised...we used dixie cups and minutes before the ceremony, she told me we had to move the cake from the table they provided for the cake which she saw us decorate for an hour the day before the wedding. She said she needed to put beverages there. This is only a small example of all she did to make it very stressful. She was rude and kept pushing us to hurry up and go go go....when all was on time and she kept threatening to take the 200.00 deposit if anything was not as we left it...this was before there was even a ceremony. I just do not want this to happen to anyone else. I had a small wedding and would just like people to be warned.

This is a great place for weddings and events , Great food, and service provided by Classic Events!

Drove out only to discover closed on weekends. I even checked hours of operation before driving 15 -20 miles out.

The metal edging along some of the trail was not anchored down properly. I tripped, it send me falling down the hill and I was hurt pretty well. I let the lady at reception know. I hope she did something about it. If I had been elderly I would have landed in the hospital I'm sure. Otherwise the place is beautiful.

The Rose Garden in Louisiana is a gorgeous display of Roses in an eye appealing arrangement with walks throughout the garden so young and old can view it all.
