Spirit of the Red River Cruise, Shreveport

I called ahead to confirm that someone would be there. We went with some neighbors and enjoyed ourselves with the wildlife and information provided. Yes there are trailers on the banks of the river but I won't hold the captain responsible for that because it's not his fault. I plan on going again when we have family or friends come to town to visit. The trash is horrible along the banks but it's horrible everywhere...again, I'm not going to hold the captain responsible for that but it should be addressed elsewhere. I highly recommend this relaxed and informative trip.

I have lived in Shreveport all my life. We had company come to town and wanted to show her some interesting sites in the area. Capt. Sandy was very hospitable. I enjoyed the cruise even though the temperature was 105. I choose to sit on the front bench where it was cool and the sound of the water was relaxing. I learned more about the bridges that we went under. The most interesting thing was to learn about the Civil War shipyard. Capt. Sandy pointed out several water fowl that were near the water's edge. I look forward to going again.

I have actually been on the river cruise twice and would go again any day! The boat is very clean and has plenty of comfortable seating. There are even two benches on the front of the boat to sit on. There are also very inexpensive snacks and cold drinks available. You can even arrange for a handicapped accessible pick-up and drop-off location! Capt. Sandy is very knowledgeable about local history, businesses, and the wildlife you will see along the river. My family and friends had a great time!

the captain was very nice and informative. my son and all other kids aboard got to drive the boat. beverages and snacks were available and inexpensive. only advice is to go on the earliest ride...unless it is cooler in the year. it was pretty warm and prolly hotter than hell later than the time we went. we enjoyed the ride.

Lots of wildlife! A great captain. Very safe consious and knowledgable. I learned a lot of things I didn't know. Loved it. Will do it again! There was nothing to dislike.

The cruise was great. Capt. Sandy was very informative and entertaining! Had a blast.

My entire family had a wonderful time on this cruise! From the relaxed atmosphere to the scenic riverbanks, to the great tour guide, it was fun all the way around! We will be returning!

My family and I throughly enjoyed our tour of the Red River! Captain Sandy is not only informative but also very entertaining! We loved seeing the wildlife, the history, and learning more about Shreveport. My kids also had a blast driving the boat down the river. This was great family fun that we all enjoyed! One of the "must sees" in Shreveport!

April 1, my friend and I took a tour on the Spirit of the Red River. When we arrived at the dock, there was no one aboard the boat. However, all we had to do was call the number available at the dock. Over the phone, we were able to make arrangements for when the captain could take us out on a cruise. To our surprise, the captain was able to accommodate us with a very promptly arrival time. Captain Sandy was very nice! He was very informative of the history of the river. One thing that came to my attention was how clean and up to date the boat was. There was snacks and cold drinks available. I would have to say drifting down the red was so relaxing! I would highly recommend this as an enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Call before coming out to the dock only to wait on the Captain who missed his first two scheduled runs. . It is a shame that the people of Shreveport do not take better care of their river and stop all the littering. Not a very scenic ride unless you like old run down housing.
