As nice as Granny's kitchen...

Walking through the door, which had lingering cafe au lait drinkers hither and yon, in to the famed Morning Call diner was like stepping into Mayberry. The cash register was antiquated, and the service from my 50's-diner-hat-wearing-server was personal and quaint. I loved hanging out at the marble breakfast bar, safely a yard or more away from other diners, though comfortably seated in such a way that we could talk over beignets if desired. The food was spectacular, the service old-fashioned-fun, and the diner itself quaint and somehow beloved like an ol' granny. Not quite so beautiful, given the passage of time, and yet so incredibly beautiful at the same time. Enjoyed the visit!
