Whitehaven Mansion, Paducah

To bad they turned this beautiful mansion into a rest area. Should have left it in it's original way. Would be a fabulous place to see decorated in the day of it's time and to learn the history of it through guided tours.

It's a good place to stop and use the super clean toilets. The outside is lovely. Other than that, there is nothing to do here. Spend about 10 minutes here tops..

My wife and I have been going to Paducah on Mini Vacations for 10 years but Today 9-28-06 was the First Time we had ever stopped there. This Mansion is a Beautiful Place to visit and if you are passing by you will enjoy your stop There. Some people even say there are some Friendly Ghosts there although we did not see any.

I visit whitehaven every time i go into kentucky , or leave kentucky . I make a special point of it. It reminds me of a time in history of romance and beauty . My husband is a long haul driver , we are from winnipeg manitoba canada, i'am so glad you allow large trucks. It is so peaceful and pretty.I can almost see people on the veranda sipping mint julips , ha ha I wish i was one of them,well watch for me i'll be in a large bison truck gazing at whitehaven wishing! win muzyka

The Whitehaven Mansion in Paducah is absolutely beautiful. It is a gorgeous backdrop for pictures, and I also believe it would make a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony and reception. I would love to have my wedding there next summer, and am going to talk to the staff about it soon! I would greatly appreciate it if someone would post a comment regarding whether or not it might be too noisy for a wedding ceremony. I think we could play some background music and get mics, but would the noise from the interstate still be too much? Again, Whitehaven Mansion is a lovely place to behold, don't pass up the opportunity to visit if you're in the area!

Not only is it used a a rest area, its also has a museum of Vice President Alben Barkley memorabilia. There brocure shows that the mansion has a very rich history, like most of Paducah. I found it a very interesting place, contrary to most disgusting rest areas you fond along interstates.
