We were married in Franklin, Ky on June 18, 1948. On June 19, 2009 we went back to walk through the old court house, eat at the Bricklayer's Cafe and at the suggestion of a fine young woman in the county clerk's office, we visited the museum. We had a grand tour by Betty Nolen. She was wonderful and knows her history well. This is a treasure for any city. We will probably return at another time and do some research. Franklin is such a beutiful town and it gave us a wonderful start in our life. We highly recommend a visit there.
I really enjoyed my trip to the musem..I found alot of helpful info that helped in researching family history...my great grandparents lived next to this jail in the early days...my great grandfather being a stonesman may have helped build it... I enjoyed the tour of the jail and loved the research I did there at the archives..the staff was so friendly and helpful we stayed all day... I plan to return someday to continue our family research...we found the cemataries of family members and met a living relative also...this musem is a must see and I am so thankful to have visited it...
