Riverview At Hobson Grove

Description

Italianate home of Atwood and Juliet \"Julia\" van Meter Hobson, was so named because of its proximity to the Barren River. Construction of the hilltop home began in the late 1850s, but was temporarily halted by the Civil War. The partially completed home became a munitions magazine while the Confederates held Bowling Green during the winter of 1861-62. Riverview was finally completed in 1872.

I take all of my out of town visitors to Hobson Grove.

The staff of Hobson Grove really brings the Victorian era alive for those of us who visit. I take all of my visitors there and have enjoyed every visit.

A Victorian Moment in Time

At Riverview at Hobson Grove, everyone takes the time to show you how victorians really lived. This home was once wreckage and was salvaged by a few women who couldn't see it go to waste. It is now restored to its full potential and back to its beautiful beginnings. The house entertains and educates folks of any age.
