Great Plains Nature Center
Open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Great Plains Nature Center serves as an educator to the public of the natural resources, especially the wildlife and plant species, of the Great Plains Region; and the importance of wise stewardship of natural resources and the roles and responsibilities of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism and the Wichita Department of Park and Recreation.
I went to the Great Plains Nature Center recently and I loved it. I saw tons of turtles, a deer and two beavers. I got tons of exercise without being bored or too overheated. The paths are clear and several trees block the sun. I would highly recommend going here.
i've been to the nature center alot and i never get bored of it! the thing i loved the most is the nature trail! of course i got lost but it was still fun to see what kansas used to be like in a way. i highly recomend it! and you get in for free!!
