Smoky Hill River Festival, Salina

The river festival does a great job of getting some talented vendors in and decorating the park but I have found an ever increasingly growing trend not to attend. I enjoy looking at some of the exhibts but I am finding time and time again there is little new talent and it seems like the same old stuff year after year. The food is high, admission is crazy considering you can go to Wichita and see more and get artist that have established a reputation for themselves for a smaller price. Free shuttle services are setup around the area to combat the parking problems commonly seen at other festivals. Plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy. If your making plans on going out to eat make reseravtions when this comes to town or you will be waiting in line for some time.

We go every year -- the festival is outstanding and the arts are top rate. We have lived all over the country, and this is the best arts festival we have found.

Spend $8 get three days filled with music arts crafts and talent shows. Great for all ages. it's all outdoors in a great park. Nothing but fun. I highly suggest make the trip.
