Not very good...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/08
I have been a regular, taking part in the public sessions here for quite some time. I live an hour away from 4 different facilities but this is the easiest one to get to. The public sessions on the weekends are often crowded with kids that are up to no good. Either they are challenging each other who can knock down the most people, going the wrong direction, or stopped in groups in the pathway. During the week there is no skate supervision. On the weekend there is a "skate guard" which only consists of one person gliding around listening to their iPod. Many people I've spoken with say they'll hesitate to return. I think that is a shame, because they could make more $$ beyond that of the "dropped off kids" if they'd just take the time to care. Complaints yield no real response. Other local facilities (Joliet, Bloomington, Peoria) are safer/better run facilities.

Nice Indoor Skating Center
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/07
This indoor facility features two ice skating surfaces, team locker rooms, public locker rooms, with a pro shop. The staff has made a good educated effort to bring skating to the Quad Cities public. I grew up in the northland where skating is second nature and taken for granted. I sold my 3 pairs of expensive Bauer skates upon moving here, this was long before the QCSC and long before Nike bought Bauer. I had no plans of killing myself or ruining my skates on the swampy ice of the pond at Vander Veer Park. If only I would have kept them, they would be in use.

The QCSC had excellent workers and very good service, very nice ice and in good shape. It was a state of the art building and had many features for everyone, the two ice surfaces made is ver convinent.
