The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice, but they don't know jack about saltwater tanks. The fact that theirs are still alive absolutely amazes me. My husband and I live about an hour away, and we've been dealing with them for our tank needs. We've spent over 1,000 dollars with them, and we just keep having to go back to get things that they have messed up fixed. They have killed off over half of our tank, and said they would call me roughly 3 weeks ago, and I've not heard anything from them. I've finally decided to call the company of the product I've had the most trouble with recently, and was told they were doing everything completely wrong! I am just so irate right now! They don't answer their phones when you need them, and getting in contact with them is almost impossible! I left a message with them a while back and it took almost 2 weeks to get a call back! If you have a salt water tank I suggest you go elsewhere, because you will end up spending way more than you wanted if you go here!
I recently saw A visa commercial asking have you been to the aquarium with your daughter on a tuesday? And I thought to myself "No... I haven't." So, I googled if we had any aquariums around, and low and behold I found inland aquatics, and I took my three year old daughter there and she was amazed, as was I, the absolute wonder and brilliance of all the salt water fish and reefs. It was beautiful.
My son and I discovered Inland Aquatics by accident when we were going to buy some freshwater fish at another store in Terre Haute. This place was amazing,we wandered around looking at the variety of marine life in all the tanks. Ihave been at some of the largest marine exhibitsin the country, but I was able to see more variety of marine life up close 45 minutes from my house and I never knew it was there. I have had freshwater tanks most of my life, and my son does now, but after talking briefly with one of the staff and seeing that a saltwater tank can be more than just a couple of fish or a few invertabrates we may make the change to a reef type system. The only downside I saw to the facility was it's not very user friendly for want of a better term, but I don't believe through the door retail is their primary purpose.
I've been to a lot of aquarium stores, and this place blows them all away. You can't really even call it an aquarium store, it's like visiting a public aquarium that is free. Beautiful saltwater fish you can get up close to and check out. Its a nice place to visit during the winter, its warm and humid inside. Definately check it out!
