Chateau Thomas Winery, Nashville

We've been going to the Chateau Thomas for years. They have an excellent service staff introducing new wines for tasting and they have good local musicians performing on weekends. They recently introduced a new tasting fee which doesn't go down well. It doesn't apply to a bottle purchase which would make it more palatable. The wines are excellent but with two tasting fees of $5.00 added on to a $20.00 bottle of wine that makes it a $30.00 bottle of wine; that’s not a good deal at all.

Besides great service from knowledgable people, you get quality wine that is very hard to beat. I never miss it any time I go to Nashville.

My girlfriend and I stopped in while staying at the hotel next door. We each had two glasses of red and a few tastes of others. Both of us woke up in the middle of the night with horrible indigestion and were hung over all the next day. The wines were almost all excellent tasting, however at $20 a bottle retail I expect some purity! I honestly felt like I had drank a whole night's worth of house wine. There is something wrong with their process. Not to mention that they fly their grapes in and make their wine in a steel building on the side of the interstate. They don't even have a real cellar. They age their barrels in a warehouse on site. It looks more like a microbrewery than a winery. You would be much better off spending your $20-$50 a bottle on some real wine at the grocery store rather than some home-brew at this joint.

Moving to Nashville from Indy has been a culture shock...thankgoodness for Toscan Cab and Geoff. The atmosphere Geoff has created encourages us to return on a weekly basis along with the local musical talent.

I loved that this place was down to earth and they had great wine! IT was definitely a very relaxing atmosphere! Great place to go for a date or anniversary! I also suggest the 1875 Homestead B&B down there!

I live in Brown County and let me just say, Chateau Thomas is the BEST! The company in there is always good and the wine will speak for itself. I LOVE the Muscat Canelli.

I have been to Chateau Thomas Winery many times now and can say I have never had a more pleasant experience in a winery. The entertainment is delightful and the staff is very personable and accommodating. I believe that the winery staff, especially Geoff and Leroy, are as interesting and intoxicating as the wine. Thank you so much Leroy and Goeff for the best weekend ever. I will most certainly return as often as possible. Kim

I can't think of a better winery. My family and I had a great time enjoying the music and the fireplace all while enjoy the BEST Reisling Wine I have ever had! Goeff was so much fun, and so helpful. We are looking forward to our return trip to re-stock our own wine cellar with only the best! Marcia

I love this place, whether I'm performing with my band Acoustic Catfish, or simply hanging out and having a glass of one of Dr. Thomas's outstanding wines. Geoff, Dancing Leroy, and the rest of the crew are a friendly, fun-loving bunch who make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, whether they are new to wines or are connoisseurs. If you make a trip to Nashville and skip this place, you are missing out on a real treat.
