Washington Park Zoo, Michigan City

Didn't expect such a decent zoo here. A hidden gem of Michigan city.

This zoo is great for children and adults. Big enough to entertain and small enough not to make you miserable. The staff is wonderful and the exhibits are great. The gift shop has a lot of variety and fair prices. It is a great zoo. You can get pretty close to the tigers. Petting zoo area is awesome. Kids love to feed the goats.

I have 2 young children 3yr and 11 mos. and we love to go to the zoo. It is not too spread out for my 3yr old to walk himself. Great exhibits and always clean. Animals are usually always out and somewhat active. The zoo has rebuilt some exhibits and always making improvements. I have been going here since I was a child. Love the hands on exhibits also. Great zoo and great park surrounding.

Great price,good location i'v been coming here since i was a child. Now my children and their family and friends love it also. Lots of nice clean beaches close by, riverboat gambling, some of the motels close by are really not that great they need to add a few more and update the old ones. Some of the newer ones are alittle exspensive for that area. They need more motels closer to the zoo and beaches.

Love the veiw of Lake Michigan from the look out tower. A very nice and quaint zoo with tons of charm.Always a childhood favorite and plan to take my children's children. I always loved the place it brings back so many great memories.

The zoo has come along way from what it once was. If you are looking for an up close and personal animal visit this is the place. The animals are all really happy and healthy looking. The zoo staff are readly available to answer questions, as well to see them work with the animals. I would not only reccommend this zoo for your business but, also for your support in time and funds.

It's a GREAT kids Zoo and a valuable source of information. Since the remodeling it is just an excellent experience for the whole family. It's the perfect location...beach, park, walking/workout trail.

Very accessible -- location wise as well as getting close to the animals. Nice variety for such a small place -- great for small children and those who tire of walking easily. Can't beat the price. Only thing is it's sad for the animals, which are in rather small cages and can't get away from the sights and sounds. I give it 4 stars for the visitors (people) and 2 stars for the home team (critters).
