The eastside salon in my opinion is outdated and ugly. Can we say 1980's?! :) I find that with many Christina & Company stylist they have big ego's for absolutely nothing. One manager is an alcoholic. The other one is just psychotic. Christina has no idea what to do with herself. The stylist think they are Gods gift to earth. They are rude, stuck-up, and full of their "talent". I am sure you could get better service at a private salon.
I have been here several times. I have a hard time getting color that I like. This place seemed to get it right. Unfortunately, it came at a price. 145.00 for color and cut on short hair. Not to mention a treatment for my hair was added without first asking me for an extra 20.00. The assistant always got color all over me and got my blouse soaking wet. I was told at every visit that there was some new product I needed because my hair was in bad condition. I was pressured all the time. The stylist was nice in a FAKE way, and always would gossip about the salon, not getting holidays off or paid and not making enough to afford new styling tools. The girls at the front desk were such snobs! They acted like I should appreciate if they even looked at me! You get a better pedicure in one of the nail shops without having to make an appointment and for much less. My feet were never soft after getting a pedicure. They also will not do exchanges or returns or any kind of credit on any of the products they sell. Should you question something or have issue with something, be it a service or a product that was pushed on you, you are quickly dismissed and told not to come back if you don't respect their opinion as always being correct. Do yourself a favor, find a nice local shop in town to get hair cuts and color, go to a local nail shop for a pedicure / manicure, and you can easily get a better massage elsewhere. Oh, and the girls at the front, talk about you, often as you are leaving and you can hear them making remarks about your dress, hair, make up, jewelty and so on. Just saw Jamie W at one of the local shops getting her nails done and what was she doing? Talking bad about Christina and Company! What a joke! She was putting down Christina's nail techs, and Jamie W works there! She said they don't get the dead skin off of her feet either.
I went to Christina's on 26 for the first time two days ago. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. The girl who was doing my hair was pulling it so hard while she blowdried it that she nearly pulled me into the next seat the entire time, even after my protests that it was really hurting. My scalp was actually bleeding in a few places. Another stylist actually had to ask me if I was okay. The cut I received was less than stellar, and I had to trim it myself to even it out when I got home. In addition, the stylist I had was also less than friendly. From the shampoo to the cut to the blowdry it took only twenty-five minutes, and I was obviously being rushed by the stylist. It was an absolutely terrible experience. Really a complete nightmare.
The salon is also very dirty and dingy, and the staff were utterly unprofessional. I will NEVER go back, and I would advise others not to, either. I could receive a better and more gentle cut from my two-year-old if I handed him safety scissors and told him to hack away.
When I called to inquire about their pedicures, I specifically asked if they offered a massage chair. The receptionist said they did. During my visit I was seated in a "massage chair" yet it was never turned on. However, the girl was friendly and took extra time with the pedicure. Frankly, I should have asked her to turn on the chair but didn't want to upset someone holding a sharp implement. All in all, it was a nice visit but I've had better for less $.
This is hands down the best salon in Lafayette. The stylist are all very highly trained and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They also have a new complete makeover package that is absolutely amazing, it involves everything from hair styles, to make-up, to a fashion consultation. This salon has it all!
Christine's has definitely let itself slide in the past couple of years. The service is not what it used to be and has failed to stay on the cutting edge of fashion and style. If you are looking for a serious spa and relaxation, I would skip Christine's and head to one in Indy, at least the service is what you pay for.
Want to schedule a bridal party but have an early wedding? They will not deviate from their standard hours to accommodate a bride? How is this even possible, you want to loose $500 MINIMUM? Rude lady said they will not open before 8 on Sat. and 9 on Sunday, said it about 3 times....WORTHLESS!
I have been to both Christina's Spas many times. I have seen most of the people doing their work while i was getting mine done. The receptionists have always been friendly and willing to help with any problems or questions i might ask, even when they are swarming with customers or people walking in. They deal with everybody in the salon, and quite frankly, customers are very rude to them. They are always nice even to the people who are screaming and cussing at them. I have only heard one of them ask somebody to stop cussing and screaming [[in a very nice and professional manner]] because i personally believe the lady was acting crazy. The people who work there are amazing, and are very kind. I have seen people be rude to them and they have kept a professional attitude, and never said anything about somebody after they left. Some people need to realize that they are doing their best. Nobody is perfect, either are you. Yes some of the services can be a little pricey, but it is def. worth it. People need to realize that it is not the stylists fault they are running late, it is the clients before them. If the client decides to change what their appt was for, it is normally for something that takes longer. Whoever said that they talked to a manager named Amy is wrong, because there is no manager named Amy, you were probably somewhere else. if you were not completely satisfied, i encourage you to go again, and I am sure you will be treated with the same respect as I was. And if you are reading this to form an opinion on weather or not you should go, i ask that you go and make your own opinion. I love this place!
The stylists are rude and stuck up. They really don't seem to follow instructions well, even when given a picture they kind of look at it and think,...."how did they do that"? And if you want a suggestion from them (thinking that they know what kinds of styles fit your face type) -FORGET ABOUT IT!! It's the environment you pay for....not the stylists!
I went to this salon once and have not returned. I arrived ten minutes early to my appointment and nobody came to the desk to greet me and see what I was there for. Finally after five minutes past my appointment time I got someone's attention and she asked if I had an appointment which of course I did. Then, the stylist finally came over after another ten minutes. She did not even say hello to me let alone make any conversation through the whole experience. After my hair was done I actually felt uglier. The cut was just plain bad. I think I had it better when I was ten years old going to good old Cost Cutters. Since then I have stuck with waiting until I return home to go to my regular salon and stylist. This place is just plain BAD.
