Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Fort Wayne

I find it more affordable to have a zoo membership to save a family some money instead of paying every time you go (it can get costly)- I suggest a membership. I brought my nephew last Friday and we had a blast- The exhibits were nicely put together and he really enjoyed the horse ride. It was nice to finally have a great place to eat at instead of worrying about packing a lunch. Not only was there one dairy queen but there were two of them with numerous stands around the zoo. They had great food, friendly service and good prices. I don't know what has happend to Dairy Queen over the year but recently I have noticed it has made a few changes, which are great changes. So whatever you have been doing keep it up!!! Overall I really enjoyed spending the day at the zoo and I would suggest it to others to check out the Fort Wayne zoo and to leave your picnic baskets at home and enjoy!!

I worked at a zoo, in Fort Worth, Texas, which is number five in the USA. They're admission is only $12 for adults (13+) (2 & under are free, sr. are $9 ) has 16 permanent exhibits, 8 different attractions, houses more than 7,000 native and exotic animals and is open until November. While the Fort Wayne Childrens Zoo only has 1,500 animals, 5 attractions and only stays open until October 11th. And at the outrageous price of $13.50 (14+) (1 & under are free, sr. are $10.50) , it really seems like this zoo is taking advantage of its visitors, especially for being a non-profit organization (same as the fort worth zoo, who does more for cheaper.) I think you should re-evaluate your prices and be more considerate of how your they affect your visitors, in comparison to better zoos.

I think people just find something, anything, to complain about these days! The cost of the zoo really is not THAT expensive! Compared to other zoos, its one on the cheaper side. Plus, they dont charge for parking like a lot of places! Upon entering the gate, we talked to an employee and learned that the zoo is a NON-PROFIT zoo. With no government funding, all of the expenses (such as animal food and care) are covered by donations and guests admissions! Its amazing to see what kind of experience can be created without the aid of the government. I think that says a lot about the character of the zoo! I would definitely recommend this to anybody of any age!

this zoo was awsome we had a wonderful time with the monkeys and sea lions it is a great zoo i do recemend it and i will go there very soon again!!!!

The addmission is entirely toooooooo high, by the time I pay for myself and 2 children I've already spent a bundle,JUST TO WALK IN THE GATE..... We rode on the skyline and really seen nothing, same as the train, oh and the pony ride your child only gets two trips around WOW.... at least on the boat ride we seen the kangaroos and thats about it... This Zoo is rated in the top ten in the U.S. it is a nice place to visit but not much going on for the money you spend... So you better get out your wallet or pocketbook ,it is sort of over rated! Well not sort of over rated IT IS OVER RATED!!!! A family can't even go to the Zoo for a fun day with out spending alot of MONEY how sad is that..... If you live in the area and would like to visit your local Zoo I think it would be wise to invest in a family season pass this way, it might not be so coatly just to walk in the gate....Not to mention the cost of the snacks.... Better sneak a couple in your pocketbook, diaperbag ect... (Explain to your children Mommy and Daddy didn't realize it was going to cost this much we didn't bring enough money we can either go on the train ride or buy you a snack!) Now your child is CRYING and UPSET.... So now it's time to leave BROKE and HUNGERY......

We buy an annual pass for the Mote Aquarium and we have always in past years been able to use this pass for severalll Children's zoo for our 5 grandchildren and their parents. This cost saving measure made it possible to support several zoos with our spending money in the zoo for food,rides and other gifts each zoo offered. It was a win-win situation for all,especially we grandparents . The Ft Wayne Children's Zoo is no longer using their option of free entrance on a $125 pass. I am sure we will find some wonderful new attraction to visit since our pass is no longer woth the cost. The ticket price has risen, we received only 50% off and spent a higher price for fewer extras. All costs have risen for all of us ,but there is a limit to how much we can spend per outing. I wish the zoo continued monies but they won't be ours nor our families

This zoo was in the past a nice place to visit. It seems it is now more of a comercial venture. Admission is higher than other zoos around area. Food and refreshments are out of sight for this kind of venture. Take plenty of $1.00 bills. They use a token system for rides etc., with no bill changers around. No exchanging of these tokens, so if you only use 4 you are stuck with the rest, if you use a higher bill. To Bad This Place Has Gone Down Hill So Bad Over The Past Few Years

We love to go to the zoo every time we visit family. We are from Florida. We have been there at different times of the day and found that the best time is when the zoo opens until a little before noon. The amimals are out when it's cool and feeding. You get to see more of them. Will go back next year again in the AM and take a lunch break after seeing the animals.

We have been to the zoo quite often and our experience this year was not as good as expected. Alot of the animals were not in their cages it seemed so bare this time. The kangaroo population was really scarce. We only seen about 5 roos and they didn't look to well either. There was no dingos there either. The water ride didn't even have the storyline of Austrailia going. I just hope when my family from Pa comes down in a couple weeks its better than what we seen this time.

The Fort Wyane Childrens Zoo was a lot of fun. Worth the time and money. We buy the zoo pass every year. It is cheap entertainment just pack a lunch and it is a nice day out for the family and a great way to spend time together.
