My Wife and I recently visted Benjamin's again for probably the 100th time. It was good as always but we were sad to see the young Bartender gone. The food was delicious, and service as it should be expected.
This was our first trip to Galena. Heard about Benjamin's & thought it would be a great place for lunch as we wanted to splurge more on our evening dinner. Big mistake. Just a regular restaurant - nothing fancy, tables crowded together. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich which he thought was okay, but bland. My sandwich was totally undercooked!! It was a grilled chicken sandwich & with the low lights in the building, it was hard to see just how pink it was. Cold, rubbery, totally unacceptable! Our waitress was very nice - took it back, offered me something else (had no appetite by then), so the manager took it off the bill. This is just an ordinary place to eat. We wish we would have tried another place just by looking around town.
I heard from others in town, the former owners ran a better restaurant.
I recently ate dinner at Benjamins with my girlfriend. The food was ok-but very overpriced. The server was terrible. His name was andy and he was more intersted in my girlfriend. He talked to us the whole time and it was very annoying. We were almost tempted to leave because he was scaring my girlfriend. The bathroom was terrible as well- very dirty. I will never go back!
This is our first trip back to Benjamins in a couple years, and we're guessing the ownership has changed. The service was ok, but the value of what we got was far below what we expect. For two adults and two children, out bill was $57. I'm sure we could have gone to one of the finer dining restaurants for the same amount of money.
I had the Wild Side Steak and my wife, Kara had the Apple Pork Chops. That is the best Pork Chops that we ever had and the Wild Side makes a nice touch with the wiskey sauce. The kids loved the fireman hat. They give out fresh bake cookies at the end of the meal. I will recommend this place for any family or a nice romantic dinner.
our server was terrible the food was late because he stood at our table talking! The food was tasty, but Andy was annoying.the bathrooms where very dirty and paper not stocked.for the price of our dinner I expect better servers and clean facilities.I will try other restaurants in town next time we return.
I liked all of the food that I got there, it was never cold and it was the best i could find in town. The food there is unique and there is not alot of food there that you can get anywhere else in Galena.
