just ok
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/11
I thought the admission price for places like Cypress Cove was outrageous, but then I went to Splash Country and see you get what you pay for. My boys (4 and 5) did not find the kiddie area interesting at all. There is no where near enough seating. The lazy river is nice though. This park needs some TLC, it's a bit run down.

This is our favorite pool
By Sly, 7/28/08
Our family has a variety of ages and likes/dislikes (teen, tween, toddler) and this place seems to pacify everyone. It's not a waterpark, it's just a pool with additional water features, so don't focus on "rides"--think about what you would do at a pool and then add some fun tubes slides, a lazy river and a toddler water area; plus a sand area with playground, volleyball court and lots of grassy areas to picnic. The vending area has healthy snacks at a reasonable price and the lockers only cost a quarter. Plus, if you go after 4 p.m., it is only about $5.00 pp and less crowded, and the water has had time to heat up throughout the heat of the day. If you want a waterpark, go to a waterpark--but you'll spend about 3 times as much--if not more! This is a great place to take a family for 2 to 3 hours, especially when you need your kids to burn off some energy since there are numerous areas to play in. My kids sleep great after swimming!

Did not like it
By asugar1, 7/2/08
Not much to do when it comes to rides. Don't expect to find lounge chare unless you planning on coming very early. Couldn't relax much on the lazy river because after one round the life gard told everybody to get off it because there was not enough tubes for other people ,felt like I'm on the ride instead of lazy river, not to mention lost 2 pars of sun glasses in the water because those tubes flip a lot. The food is expensive and very limited.

splash country rating
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/08
i liked the food there and the slides. i dont like the fact that you run out of tubes very fast, and how its very dirty when the place is crowded. I think the staff could be a little nicer instead of appearing intimidating, but thats just a common opinion. More lounge chairs would make things a lot easier, so people dont have to lay in places that are uncomfortable. I think the price to get in is a little bit too high, i mean if youre gonna charge that much atleast make the food free or discounted. little things like that would make splash country a 5-star waterpark!

Best waterpark in Chicagoland
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/23/07
Splash Country is a great place to spend the day. The main pool goes from 0 depth to 5 ft and is guarded by Ellis trained lifeguards, one of the most demanding lifeguarding co. that requires lifeguards to be test ready at all times. They test their lifeguards by the use of live audits and test dummies. They are also required to attend inservice reviewing cpr and other rescue tech. for at least 4 hours a month. Although the lazy river is only about 3 ft deep, lifeguards are also stationed there. They have 2 waterslides that may be used by children over 48 in. The safety at a waterpark is very important and splash country has proven to maintain high quality standard for the rest of the industry to follow.
