Review of C.J.'s Pub & Pool
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/04
In my opinion, CJ's Pub and Pool is the prototype for all pool joints. The owner (who will remain nameless) is your typical Valdosta native. Crabby middle-aged guy who isn't there all that much unless it's to collect his money from the staff. As for the food, it is actually better than most pool halls, unfortunately it is slightly more expensive as well. It's DEAD during the daytime (except gamedays),and picks up significantly during the night. The best thing that CJ's has going for it is it's all-but Monopoly over the Valdosta pool scene...if you wanna play some pool...CJ's is pretty much all ya' got buddy! Overall, this is a great place to kick back with your friends, but you have to order SOMETHING or else you will be booted out (makes sense). There is an EXTREMELY HIGH employee turnover rate at this place (I know, I used to work there), so chances are if you need to make some short term cash...they'll have a job 4 ya...just don't expect to make it a month!! The college students tend to flock to the "nookie bars" like Bungalows or Louisiana's, but a good number do make it through CJ's doors as well. In closing, if you are ever in "Valdiddy", stop by CJ's and give it a shot! Chances are you'll return someday!
