Agrirama - worth the visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/05
This is a fun place for those who love history. Agrirama is a series of farm settings covering the period from 1870 to 1910, with old buildings moved from throughout Georgia. Everything is meant to be as realistic as possible. Human guides are dressed in period costumes, and they are informative and friendly. Besides farm settings, there is a working cotton gin, sawmill, turpentine distillery, print shop, and old steam engine with rides around the acreage. Schools use this program, and the students are given assignments - cooking, ironing clothes with irons heated on stoves, bagging corn meal from the mill, etc. Plan on 4 hours to see everything, and stop in the drug store for the ice cream!
