Atmosphere was great, service excellent, and food outstanding!! I would love to be able to make lobster fingers as delicious as L. 31's chef makes them!!
The entire dining experience really "came together" -- the restaurant is very appealing and the decor very "coastal" - staff is very pleasant and "laid back" - no rush, no hurry - just enjoy the meal!!

During our family vacation at Jekyll Island we choose to dine at Latitude 31 on Sept 9th, our server was Renesha and we checked out at approximately 9pm. The service that I received less than satisfactory service, first we waited close to 1 hour for a table, then close to another hour to be served after we were seated, the server refused to bring tea refills during our meal but as we were leaving she finally filled my glass half way. Another complaint; she didn't bring scalloped potatoes the meal (had to stop her and ask her to bring them). The service was poor for the entire family, as we were over charged for the steak (a 12 oz. for $32.00), and the scallops were not fully cooked. It was not a pleasant experience at all.
outside raw bar is awesome. best boiled peal and eat shrimp of ever had just awesome. hadnt seen my mother, siset and brother for about three years, was a great place to catch up eat some awesome seafood and catch up.
My wife and I took out 18 month old to Latitude 31 tonight with another couple and their baby (that's 4 adults and 2 toddlers). When we got the bill, a 20% "service charge" was added because we had a party of 6 or more. Pretty rediculous...especially when 2 in our party were still eating off their parents' plates.
Aside from that, the food was marginal but not incredibly overpriced as you would expect at a touristy beach place. The scenery was nice. The help was so-so, but definitely NOT worth a 20% tip, however...
We arrived shortly before opening and were told we had a 20 minute wait. An hour later we were finally ushered in, a party of eleven. Split between two tables with famished children, we finally received our bread and then salads.
The food was excellent. The men's restroom was dirty.
Usually you give a gratuity for prompt service, good food and a clean restroom. Two out of three failed.
My wife and I vacation in the Southeast quite often and found Jekyll Island, Latitude 31 and the Rah Bar just by chance. What a great place. The food and service are wonderful and you couldn't ask for a better location. History, the beach, good food and good friends, you couldn't ask for more!
fantastic sunsets over the south georgia salt marshes. great place to propose or honeymoon. fabulous food, great service. if you want fresh seafood it doesn't get better. you can watch your dinner being carried off the boat and into the kitchen!
My husband and I spent our 26th anniversary on St Simons and Jekyll, June 16th, 2005. We live in Hinesville, approximately an hour's drive from there. Towards the end of the day we found the Rah Bar by accident, had a wonderful time. Spoke to the owner, Dan Dickerson for a good hour or so, about restaurants and so on since my husband is also in the restaurant business. Dan was kind enough to pick up our tab at the bar, and also telling us about Latitude 31. Since we had no plans to eat elsewhere, we decided to stay on the wharf and eat there. The service was top notch and food was delicious.Since that day, we have told all our friends about the wonderful dining experience we had there. My husband and I cannot wait for the next time we have a day off together, to visit the bar and restaurant again. Truly an excellent and elegant place to spend a day.
Thanks again Dan!

After spending time in the historic district, strolled over to the marina and had a wonderful dinner here as the sun was setting over the water. Shrimp boats parked at the marina bring in the day's fresh shrimp. Waitstaff were more than accommodating, and the food was very, very good. Would definitely return to this restaurant again. An overall wonderful dining experience.
