It would be a great place is the bears were in a cleaner place. THere didn't seem to be much room, an the food that you pay a $1.00 for had flies and stuff on it. Is that safe for the bears. The babies they had ther look kinda of sick. It really would be a nicer place if it was cleaner. The staff will was nice, and when i asked about stuff, they would listen and answer. THey were very helpful with my me. Now the snakes were in better shape than the bears. The man that had thoses seem to care and was very helpful, he would even let you hold any one you asked about.... enless it was a dangerous one. It was a great learning tool for kids. All together we spent about $7.00 ans it took about 3-4 hours, because we all got talking to the staff......over all the snakes were the best part.
We can make a change for the bears of Helen, GA. Your voice is needed to make the changes needed for the welfare of the Bears. Summer of 2010 it was over 100 degrees and the Bears suffered with poor ventilation, buring concret and dirty water. Please don't let these Bears now suffer the cold winds of Winter with no shelter and frozen water. Please join me we can make a change and stop the abuse of the Bears of Helen. All it will take is for you to email me to begin at firstname.lastname@example.org
This was a fun place to visit for kids & parents. I read some of the older reviews but it seems much different now. The bears seemed very calm and cool and not even interested in the food we had for them. Most of them were just relaxing. They also have a large pool area for water. Reptile exhibit was awesome! Everyone had an amazing time!! I'd definitely recommend it.
It was horrible. The bears are shoved into tiny little concrete cubes, there is nothing natural, no grass, no trees, very little shade, and just a couple of old logs for them to play with. The poor bears look so sad and dejected, they beg for food when you walk by, and the only food for them I saw was fruit and bread provided to children to toss over the railing to them.
It was depressing and the whole experience of this place made me sick to my stomach. Don't support this abuse by spending your money here.. I'm kind of appalled at myself that I did!!
This place is pretty awful. The bears are kept in tight confinement in small concrete cubes, where visitors can feed them apples and bread. They beg for the food like circus animals. When the food is thrown down, they fight eachother over it. This place is NOT worth visiting at all.
It was horrible. The website is complete lie. There is no park there. If I were you I wouldn't waste your time going there. But if you'd really like to see some bears, go and visit the poor bears cramped into little cubicles with nothing but one tree and a tiny pool of water.
The poor bears are treated like puppets. They are keep in cement boxes pretty much with nothing for entertainment. The bears were so sad and bored they just paced around in the same circles pretty mush the whole time. If you get a chance to go , dont go for entertainment but to speak your opinion about he way the bears are treated!! It was so horribke and sad.
We went to Helen last week to go tubing we had such a good time untill we found the bear park, whjich the outside walls show pictures of bears with trees, when we go inside we saw what can only be descibed as a miserable exsistance for these bears,
No Trees NO shade from the hot sun and no water, there where just small concrete pens which the bears just stood at the veiwing area for food to be thrown to them,
the reptile house which I mistook for a room for storage was just as miserable with what I could only describe as live little pink baby rats just in a plastic container on the floor with no lid, ready to be fed to the snakes, this is not a place for real animal lovers
