East Calhoun Church of God

I have been going to this church off and on since 2001. I love this place. My father pastors another church so for a while i would go to his church but i would always come back. I came back in July of 2007 and most of the people that I had not seen for a couple of years were there to welcome me with arms wide open. There were alot of new faces as well. Everyone had so much love. Who could expect anything less from a church that God touches every service? I was reading the other reviews and they were mostly great testimonies. There was one person that insulted the church, pastor, and everyone else at the church. Some people just like to insult people i guess. But pastor prays for the holy spirit to help him with every sermon before every sermon and I must have heard him say "It's not me" a million times. We know that it is God. Members at our church include doctors, business owners, business executives, and the dumb rednecks like me... Ha Ha. We just spent close to $20,000 on renovations. None of which had to be financed. Pastor just told everyone the plan 2 or 3 months ago and with the help of God. The members made it happen. So were not that poor. I would like to say a prayer for the person writing these things... "Father, I ask that you would have mercy on this person. They do not realize that they are insulting you when they insult us. Instead of vingeance father, I pray that you would bless their socks off. Give them joy unspeakable and full of glory. And melt away any bitterness that would keep them from you, your love, and the love of your people at another church. Amen." Sorry, I can't help myself sometimes. Anyway, if you have not been to East Calhoun Church and you do not have a church that you call home... Come and join us for a service. 11am and 6pm Sundays and 7pm Wednesday. We also have service the first friday of every month. The next one is on 11/06/09 at 7pm. Hope to see you there.

I love this church I love the people of this church Bro Reed is a True man of God and God has used him mighty ways and this ministrie. i have visited this church many times and have never left without being fed the word of God I have witnessed many healings in the church and from his radio ministries. be careful when you speak bad of a man of God or of a minisrties of the work of God. You see I have been in many churches and I have seen the power of God .East Calhoun is the best annointed and Holy ghost filled and God uses them mighty. They are all in 1 mind and 1 achord in worship and praise in this church,Yes I have ,and seen Jesus in this Church and Angels walk up and down the isles.I have witnessed cancer healed drug deliverance marriages saved. There is a Huge Angel stands over Bro Reed with his arms folded as he preaches the word the true.I love love this church and the power of God, where you just fall in love with Jesus and worship God I can't explain the love but it's just like when you are in here it's just like you and God and you close the world out, and just want to worship God and not leave. You see there are far and few churches that you feel tjis powerful annointing and I've never felt it like I have at East Calhoun. Since I've been going to this church. I've had the most amazing experience of my life, being physically touched by God, and by personally meeting Jesus Christ in my heart & the Holy Spirit's annointing., along with the Baptism. There is such and amazing love & annointing in this church. Our Shepard and his wife are the best thing that could of ever happened to East Calhoun Church. It's truely the best place to praise and worship and have the ultimate life changing experience of a lifetime. This world has nothing for me..... In Christ Always. Sheryl......... Psalms 73:25,26

I attended this church for almost a year. I loved the people in this place and did see the Holy Spirit show- but only do to the hungriness of the people who attended. I did witness wrongs from the pulpit but the hungriness of the people is what keeps God in this church. Many are very poor and uneducated that attend but the ones who aren't poor and uneducated are the ones who get the help. Pastor basically bases "his" pulpit on the poor and the needy to the point to where if knowledgeable you see he is deceivingly giving himself all the credit "puffing himself up". The sad thing is many poor and uneducated love the Lord with all they have -for example a family that was very poor but was there every time the doors were open sitting on the front. They loved this church they said it kept them "out of the bad world" or in other words away from the the things in todays society that tends to prey upon the poor and not so well educated. They no longer attend. Why you ask? It was not by their choice. They were stopped before a service. As they walked in excited about praising the Lord and hearing the word preached, they were pulled to the side by a pastor and told "it would be best for you not to attend here anymore, you and you family needs to leave". They were asked to leave because the children had lice. The pastors told others that had try to give them help like 27 times and they were tired of them. The truth is they were giving kits to shampoo, but they did have a re-occuring problem yet no one explained to them how to treat their home, you see it was a granma a grandaughter with her husband and 3 children they did not know how to read. Instead of getting a group of caring people to help them understand how to properly treat their home and themselves and maybe be understanding in trying to help them with reading they decided to not deal with it any longer and just tell them to leave, I don't even think they asked if they understood what they were suppose to do in treating everthing just handed them a couples a boxes a few times and let them be on their on. Again, I have seen the Holy Spirit show up but right now there needs to be prayer over this pastor and his staff so that they can see and really help the poor not just use it as a platform to benefit them. Please pray for them and the church that it will be very strong as it used to be years ago. If they don't start turning things around, all these poor people that once walked in those doors to get saved and then told to leave are being devastated and thus turning back to the world. This Pastor will have their blood on his hands because he turned them out without anything. Please pray for this church and it's people.

I have been saved only a few years now. I have been comming to East Calhoun now for about five months. The church is truly amazing, as well as the body of Christ. I've experienced freedom in the highest with God that is so amazing and wonderful. I have been delivered and set free from alchohol and drugs by the grace of GOD. IF he will do it for me he will do it for you. The Judgement was a great play. I got the chance to go and my mother went with me and got saved. God answers our prayers if we believe and have faith. He is our counsellor, our father, our redeemer and our healer. I thank God for this church,and for those who invited me. I thank him for his AMAZING GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited East Calhoun Church for about three months. The very first time I visited, I FELT THE POWER OF GOD, in the parking lot, before I even got to the door. It is VERY sad to say, as I was looking for a church, it was difficult to even find a church that was having services on wed. & sun. nights!!! East Calhoun Church does not EVER "call off" services!!! Normally upon visiting some churches I would feel a need to "pray in" the Holy Ghost, that prayer didn't have to occur at East Calhoun, because he's always there!!! On my first visit, I said, "YESHUA YOU ARE IN THIS PLACE".......... He responded, "YES I AM". And as I looked up towards the front of the church, up in the arch of the ceiling, there he was...... floating, with his hands outstretched towards the congregation, he was VERY WHITE, VERY LARGE, AND VERY, VERY BRIGHT. He allowed me to see him for just a few seconds, to see his glorious power. NOTHING like this has EVER happened to me. I have become a member of East Calhoun Church. Not only because of my "YESHUA SIGHTING", but because the WORD OF GOD is being preached and manifested there. Senior Pastor Keith Reid is an awesome "HOLY GHOST FILLED" man of god, a shepard distributing the word of god to the flock. The praise and worship teams are HEAVENLY! Praise and worship is absolutely WONDERFUL AT E.C.C.! Every sermon Pastor Reid preaches is ANNOINTED AND LIFE CHANGING. Then during altar call, lots of cool things take place, miracles, lives being changed, deliverance, healing, occurs. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CHURCH, YOU JUST CANNOT GET ANY CLOSER TO HEAVEN THAN THIS. YESHUA BLESS YOU ALL. BECKY N. DALTON, GEORGIA

I have been a member of eccog since october 2005. You can feel God's presence as you pull into the parking lot !! Since the fall of 2005 I have seen MANY miracles. Cancers healed, baby's hip realigned,back injuries completely healed, drug addictes set free just to mention a few. I myself have recieved healing from a back injury. My baby daughter was healed of an intestinal illness. Worshipping the Lord is such a wonderful experience at ECCOG, I can't wait for the day we can all worship Him face to face!!!

THE SPIRIT IN THE CHURCH AND THE FREEDOM TO WORSHIP WAS GREAT. THIS CHURCH HAS THE SWEETEST SPIRIT IN IT THAT I HAVE BEEN TO IN MANY YEARS. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN JUST WAITING TO GET INSIDE. THANKS ECGOG FOR ALLOWING THE SPIRIT TO MOVE. I ENJOYED THE VISIT

East Calhoun COG is truly the most awesome church around.People get saved in every service. In some, a LOT of people! I have seen people healed from cancer in advanced stages & other ailments that proves God is still in the healing business. People are delivered & set free from every kind of bondage. There is so much freedom to worship & the music is just great! The pastor is highly annointed of God, is very sensitive to His Spirit & is the most wonderful Pastor I've ever had.

I now have a relationship with Jesus that I never knew was possible. There I have the freedom to stand and praise and for the first time of going from churh to church searching, I finally feel home. I can't even put into words how loved I feel there and how much I've been taught. I live in Dalton, and because of gas prices I don't get to go there very much anymore but when I do, it's wonderful.
