Trupiano's Italian Bistro, Fallbrook

WHAT HAPPENED! This used to be a pleasant experience, wonderful surroundings, excellent food great service! We decided to re-visit Trupianos last evening. The atmosphere was non-existant. It was like being in a cafe. The seating arrangement was dreadful, plus the take-out queues were right adjacent to where you sat to eat your meal! Breadsticks were continually offered as the waiting time for the meal ordered was embarrassingly too long. When the order finally arrived there was no taste, parmesan was not offered, and to be honest it looked and tasted as if it had come from the micro-wave. What a disappointment, the pride and care taken when Trupiano's initially opened was not evident in the food or ambience. Very disappointed !!

My husband and I are fairly new to Fallbrook and have had terrible service at most of the places we have been to. That being said, we didn't have high expectations for Trupiano's. We were very pleasantly surprised with the prompt and courteous service, as well as the great food! We plan on going back very soon. There were quite a few other diners there, and the waitstaff still managed to make us feel as if we were the only ones there. Normally, we go all the way to Oceanside to Olive Garden, but Trupiano's was, by far, much better.

We had a great dinner there. The food was excellent and so was the service. We went on a Sunday evening; we thought there wouldn't be a lot of people there but were surprised to see that it was pretty crowded. There seem to be a lot of locals there, which is a good sign. The bread sticks are awesome, the pasta/chicken dishes were awesome and so was the tiramisu. The inside of the restaurant has a simple decor, but very friendly service. They were always filling the water glass and were very helpful in helping us choose the right dish. We will definitely be coming back.

Loved this place. food was great and so was the service. We were very pleased and will be back for more!! Pasta was amazing and couldn't stop eating the bread sticks.. Great job Trupianos!

Trupiano's appears to be a nice, clean place for a good Italian dinner at a reasonable price. So, in that regard I wasn't disappointed when I went for dinner there last evening. The problem was the service. After waiting a half an hour I finally called over one of the servers to hurry along what little I ordered... a small individual pizza. Imagine how long it would have taken had the order been any larger! Meanwhile, Mr. Faro Trupiano was busy in conversation with other tables, all the while bringing orders out to the other tables. I was no where to be found on Mr. Trupiano's radar. Finally my order came without a word. It was fine but by then I was angry enough not to want to stay there longer. I told him I would take the rest home to which he responded by bringing me a box and the bill, again, without a word. I boxed the pizza, paid the bill and left him a reasonable tip to boot! But here's a better tip, Fado. Improve your service and courtesy by treating everyone as if they mattered... even it's just dinner for one! By the way, good pizza! Too bad I won't be dropping by for a repeat performance anytime soon.

Consistently good food & service. My husband loves the filet marsala, I love the pollo fantasia. Nice relaxing little place in Fallbrook - owner is very nice - you won't go wrong having a meal here.

We too have had bad service but most of the food is good. The calamari is wonderful and the pizza is quite good. I think Fado would be smart to stop waiting on tables and be more of a trouble-shooter. Keep his eye on the tables to make sure they are being served well and fast! In this day of fast-food mentality, slow service both before and after the food arrives just won't get you anywhere. We wish Fado the best of luck with his restaurant and we will continue to be his guests.

I went to this place to celebrate my husband’s promotion with some friends, and when we walked in (4 minorities) we were not greeted or seated. We just stood at the front of the place for almost 5 min. Then some guy says we can seat ourselves, which we do. Then another 3-4 min pass and a white couple come in. Then the hostess appears and immediately seats and greets them. She put them right next to our table, and instead of greeting us or offering up a menu, she proceeds to talk to another couple. I have never been treated so horribly in my life, and I do not appreciate being treated like this. To the owners of this restaurant- this is not the 60’s where you don’t serve people of different colors. If you happen to be black or Mexican on a Thursday night- you should try Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill for an Italian fix because you most likely will not get service here strictly based on your skin color.

I have been to Trupiano's numerous times and I wonder why I keep going back. I like the food, The owner is nice and the restaurant is near our business and convenient. It's too bad Fado's efforts have been completely eclipsed by the consistently dismal service. Once you have been seated expect at least 10 minutes before a server arrives, regardless of whether there is one other party in the restaurant or ten. Said server will take your order and that will be the last you see of your server until your food (finally) arrives. Evidently California has a cracked pepper shortage as well so don't expect it to be offered to you. God forbid you make a request to see you server for any reason - water, silverware, whatever - your request is met with pure high school disdain. I don't know if Fado is unaware and oblivious, or if he knows and doesn't care because the entirety of Fallbrook can say no wrong about Trupiano's. It's not just me and it's not just in house service. We have ordered pizza's for our business the minute that they opened, given a specific time that the pizza's would be ready; an hour from the time we ordered them and still had to wait an additional hour. It's a shame, I like the food, the kitchen staff and owner are nice but the chuckleheads in the front of the house have permanently ruined the experience for me.
