What a great way to spend a weekend!
By rachel v, 03/14/08
The local music scene in Tallahassee is thriving, but for some reason it's not very well publicized. This festival is a wonderful venue to see and hear local jazz, blues, zydeco, swing, and just about nything else you can imagine. It's a completely casual atmosphere under the trees, with lots of dancing and clapping along. It's a great time for any music lover!

Great for Florida History Buffs!
By Lynn, 07/01/07
Zoos in general make me a bit squeamish (not so sure about the whole animals in captivity thing), but the animals here seem to be well kept and have large natural habitat enclosures. What I love about the place are the fascinating old buildings (an old African American schoolhouse and church, a pre-Civil War cottage lived in by Napoleon's relative, an 1870s farm house with its accompanying outbuildings). Also really cool in the birdwatching room with the huge glass wall. All in all, a great place for both adult and kid animal, nature and history lovers.

Worth The Price of Admisssion
By eddie, 05/25/05
It's not a full fledged zoo, but it's as close as you'll get in Tallahassee. The Museum has a great boardwalk that leads you through outdoor habitats of indigenous animals. There’s a playground and also a petting zoo the kids love.
