what a palce!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/09
We visited Mission san Luis on a quiet Sunday. It has wonderful picnic areas very close to the exhibits. We were impressed with the knowledge of the reenactors. The soldier at the fort was really into his role and kept saying "we do " instead of "they did " when speaking about the daily life of the fort. Unless there is a special event the site is quiet and serene, wonderful for relaxation. The walkways are smooth and easy for the disabled. On the way to the fort there are imprints of leaves, animal tracks and human footprints in the pavement just as a real dirt pathway has. This walkway is tinted the shade of some of the natural clay of the area for a more authentic feel. The Council House is amazing. Spend a few minutes just looking through the central opening in the roof. The view of passing clouds and, if you are lucky, a soaring red tail hawk will be well worth it. We haven't walked the nature trail yet but we will on our next visit.

The Hidden Jewel of Tallahassee
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/08
Our family went to Mission San Luis and loved it! It takes about 2 1/2 hours to see everything. The costumed volunteers were very knowledgable and answered every question we had. The Mission gives everyone a glimps of Florida's great history. If you are looking for something to do outdoors...you need to go to Mission San Luis.

One of the best places in Tallahassee!
By Lisa, 5/28/08
This is a living museum with many costumed reenactors. The buildings are new and some are recreated that same way the originals were. The actors are really, really nice and spend a lot of time explaining things. The site is very large but there are sidewalks and many benches. The environment is clean and relaxing.
