A Beautiful, Welcoming Church
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/09
We had a great time visiting a Sunday morning HE service! Beautiful music and singing; very worshipful atmosphere: the building and the liturgy matched the music. The rector and the people were very friendly and welcoming. We would (and have) recommended this parish as a terrific place to worship and make friends, for anyone who is looking for a church community to become a part of. Evidently, the previous reviewer was not looking for this. To view a historic and active parish as a "venue" to hold a party is insulting to the present congregation and to those earlier parishioners who put money and effort into building this lovely place of worship! My own church and rector will not allow people who aren't parishioners to "rent" the facility. We welcome AA and other non-profit groups to use our hall freely, as long as they show respect for our Christian traditions and mission purpose. Maybe the previous reviewer could consider their downpayment as a contribution to the ongoing work of the church; after all, it is tax-deductible!
